Chapter 9

❤️❤️ Separate Ways (Part 9) ❤️❤️

Meanwhile in Warlord Emera House:

Rumi's Room:

Rumi was seen pacing around her room, up in the ceiling. Her hands together in her back.

Why couldn't I understand what that Dwarf said to Juno?

"I am the strongest of them all and still yet I can't understand what that stinking old Dwarf was telling Juno," Rumi said to herself. "Why didn't even Juno spill it out when her father asked her. I'm dying to know what that Dwarf said to her."

The knocking on the door quickly made Rumi jump down silently on the floor and went to the bed.

"Co-me in," Rumi said in a pretend tired voice.

Grace opened the door and walked in carrying a plate of soup with her. "Sorry I know you must be tired Rumi, I made you soup to eat and regain your strength before Juno and your father returns." Grace told her with a smile and gave her the soup.

Rumi collected the soup and took a deep breath before she exhaled and smiled back at Grace. Using the spoon inside the plate to scoop some of the soup and ate it to the delight of Grace.

Grace left and quickly returned with a sword. Her sword. It has been long she has used it to fight. She was once a student of Warlord Emera; his best student and was good with swords. She and Warlord Emera both fell in love with each other and they got married. She stopped training the new students who came to learn martial arts when she discovered she was pregnant with Juno.

"I saw what you did to that blind seer Rumi. I first got there before my husband did; you know Juno learned how to walk quietly from me. I heard everything that you said to the seer Rumi so before you make that first move in killing my family. I will have to kill you first." Grace told her with a smile.

"Well since you know that why didn't you kill me. Why wait till now?" Rumi asked with a cruel look.

"I wanted to make sure my family is safe from your evil self before I carry out my plan. Luckily for me, today is the perfect day to kill you. That's why I poisoned your food. You are going to die either with my sword or by the poison or together but you know me. I choose the third option for you"

Rumi started laughing and finished the soup, wiping her mouth. "You got it wrong Grace, poison or whatever you put in the soup won't harm me. I am immune to poisons.

"Well I am still not scared of you," Grace said trying to hide her panic. That was the deadliest poison she had gotten from the blind seer when she went to visit the seer the previous night. Telling the blind seer what had witnessed prompted the seer to give her the poison.

"I wanted to make you the second person to die but now you will be replacing Juno who was supposed to be the first person I kill."

"That is if you get me," Grace said, removing her sword from the sheath. "Come and get me, witch."

Rumi was up to her feet and ran towards Grace. Grace was quick to swing her sword right which pushed Rumi backwards and cut right into her gown. Leaving a trail of blood which has started to emerge from the cut.

Rumi rushed again and this time Grace didn't waste any time to swing her sword once again and hit Rumi's face; her left cheek, tearing it open and blood started rushing out from the new wound and with a kick which sent Rumi flying across the room. Her back hit the wall and she fell down to the ground spitting out blood.

"Who are you and why are you here?"

Rumi smiled, "Your husband is coming. He is close by," she said and stood up to her feet. "Let's finish what we started." she added with a smirk and with lightning speed which surprised Grace. Rumi took the sword from Grace's hand and ran around Grace once. Very fast. Rumi put the sword back on its sheath and placed it back on Grace's hand.

Grace couldn't move. Her eyes widened.

Joining her hands together, Rumi bowed her head and once she lifted her head up. She was sporting a bigger evil grin. "Farewell Grace."

And one by one, Grace's body began to fall. Rumi has cut her into a million pieces.

"There are Elves too?" Storm asked in bewilderment. This was the first time he  was seeing a dwarf and now hearing that Elves too are real.

"So what happened? Why are there no Dwarfs and Elves in Ashland or in any kingdom right now?" Juno asked.

"Because our ancestors became greedy and wanted the Dwarfs for their super strength and the Elves for their magical powers. After my great grandfather with his armies killed the leader of the Elves and Dwarfs with the help of an evil person. The Elves and Dwarfs all ran away and was not seen till now you saw one." Emperor Ariadne told them.

"Pfft, that's the most boring story I have ever heard," Juno said with a dismissive expression. "Let me guess, your father told you that story?"

"No, my great grandfather before he died. But I have always had these feelings, there is more to the story my great grandfather told me."

"Whatever. It doesn't change the fact that I saw; I mean I and Strom saw a dwarf at the market," Juno said.

"We are not doubting you for sure, we are just surprised and curious as to why the Dwarfs would show up now after so many years," Warlord Emera said.

"Well when you see them, you can ask them yourself, father," Juno said once they get to the front gate of their house. She stepped down from the carriage and turned to face Storm, "See you some other time Storm."

At that moment, they heard a loud noise and the frightened scream of Rumi.
