Chapter 23

Adira’s POV

Quickly, I moved to grab clothes to put on as Alpha Liam rushed out of the room. Lyra was becoming hysterical and I knew that I needed to calm her and get her to safety. After throwing on one of Alpha Liam’s shirts over my body, I moved to Lyra and grabbed hold of her by the shoulders and said, “Calm down. I need to know where Alpha Liam told you to go in case of a situation like this.”

I knew that Lyra wasn’t a fighter and I knew he would never leave his sister unprotected, unless there was somewhere safe he had made for her to go in situations like this one now. Lyra began to take deep breaths to calm herself and just when she was to tell me where, the sound of a low growl came from within the house, and for some reason it sounded familiar. My wolf then began to bring herself forth as she let out a growl of her own and I knew whoever was in the packhouse was not a friend but a foe from my past.

“Who is it?” Lyra now asks me as I felt the hair on my arms raise.
