I arrived back in the garden and noticed Lucius was chatting with an older woman who kept checking his face if he was okay. I quickly masked my scent before striding into the garden the alpha King had arrived already, and Xavier was by the table where I was meant to sit.

“Hey, Kat!” Joshua waved at me, beaming with a smile as everyone turned to look at me. I forced a smile before going to them. I would rather sit with the captains than share a table with Xavier.
