Lana

It felt like someone had unplugged my brain because according to Ashton, I was standing in Globerfield.

The Globerfield.

I thought it might be a joke or something but the sign near the runway literally said it. The air even looked different here. It was clearer and softer.

The buildings in the distance were sleek and the glasses were flashing in the sun. It even had mountains curling far behind them like they were guarding the place.

It was everything I had always pictured it to be.

LanaBefore night even had the chance to settle properly, I was already standing in front of the mirror, trying to make myself look perfect for tonight.I dragged the lipstick carefully across my bottom lip, then pressed both lips together. My hair had taken forever but I made it work.Sapphire was beautiful. The dress hugged her body perfectly, soft and elegant in a way that made her look every bit like a Luna should.I looked… good.Maybe too good for the kind of night I felt was coming.I stared at my reflection for one more second, then adjusted one of the tiny strands of hair near my ear.A knock came at the door.“Come in.”One of the maids stepped inside with both hands holding a sealed letter. My brows pulled together. “What’s that?”She opened her mouth to answer, but I had already seen it's crest. It was Silvercrest'sI walked toward her and took the letter from her hand, my thumb brushing over the familiar sigil.“Silvercrest sent this?”“Yes, Luna. They’ve been sending inv

LanaI stared at Diana and almost laughed. But not because anything was funny. But because she was so full of crap.“They aren’t really important,” she had said.Right.A noble daughter whose parents were somehow not important? Please.I kept my face calm, but inside, my thoughts were already clawing at each other. Something about her wasn’t sitting right with me.Diana tilted her head as she brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “You ask a lot of questions, Luna.”"I’m just trying to know more about Ashton’s friend. That is all.”The lie slipped out of my lips smoothly and flawlessly. And I think she knew it.Because her smile deepened a little, like she found me amusing.I didn’t like that. Not one bit.I had seen her with Ashton these past two days. Seen it with my own eyes the way she had leaned in when she spoke to him. The way her fingers had lightly poked his arm the other evening like she was blessed with every right to touch him and Ashton had let her. That part burn

LanaTonight, the moon will be reaching it's peak. I could feel it.During every full moon, each members of every pack felt it in different ways. For some people, it was excitement. For others, it was contained and open aggression. Some wolves got needy, some experienced a hightened emotional state. Some preferred to hide away until it passed. And then there were those rare people who carried on like they weren’t affected at all.People like Ashton, of course.Somewhere down the east side of the mansion, I had earlier heard two omegas arguing over something stupid. Soap, I think, and one of them nearly shifted over it.I knew the upcoming full moon was affecting me as well in the way every little thing today had been pissing me off for absolutely no good reason.I frowned as I stepped out into the courtyard, my foot crunched softly over the gravel path before I changed direction and headed toward the training grounds. My wolf shifted restlessly beneath my skin. Irritated.Today had be

LanaI had completely forgotten why I had even came to the garden in the first place, because right now, I was completely fixated on the woman before Ashton. She was gorgeous but not in an ordinary way either. She had that refined kind of beauty that I knew made a person immediately notice everything at once. From the smooth skin to the elegant posture to the way even the night breeze seemed to move around her instead of through her.She even looked like she belonged in some royal painting. And she was standing there with Ashton like she had every right to. That made something hot and stupid bubble up in my throat.Who the hell even was she?The universe gave me less time to think before Ashton’s head turned and his dark piercing eyes landed on me almost instantly. He must have sensed my presence.“There you are!” he said ecstatically, then he lifted a hand slightly. “Come here.”I straightened so fast it almost annoyed me.Why was I straightening? Why did I suddenly feel like I had w

LanaI sat by the window, my fingers rested lightly on the edge while I stared out at the courtyard below.“Ashton…” I muttered softly under my breath, shaking my head a little.I still couldn’t wrap my head around it.The way he handled everything in that throne room. The way his voice carried, firm and final, like nothing could stand against it.He didn’t ask me to defend myself. He didn’t even look like he doubted me for a second.Whatever the king says goes. That’s how this kingdom works, I guess. And he said it was false. So it became false just like that.A small, tired smile slipped onto my lips before fading just as quickly.“I owe him…” I whispered, more to myself than anything. Not just for shutting it down but for what came after. The investigation. That part mattered more than people realized.Anyone could silence a rumor. Power does that. But digging into it and finding the root was different.I pushed myself away from the window slowly, pacing the room a little, my thoug

AmethystThe moment Ashton opened his mouth and directed that question to Alpha Damien, I knew things were getting bad. That wasn’t how this was supposed to go.I had expected anger, cold distance, maybe even disgust. Not this.It looked like he was investigating it instead of shutting it down or using it against her.A small flicker of panic crept up my spine. This could come back to me.Shit.I hadn’t thought this far ahead. I didn’t think it would even matter. It was just a rumor, something to drag her name through dirt, not something that would be dragged into the throne room of all places.Alpha Damien stood up from his seat, clearing his throat awkwardly. I turned my gaze toward him, watching closely, hoping he fumbles.“My King,” he started, bowing his head slightly. “First, I would like to apologize for the disturbance this rumor has caused.”Disturbance?I almost scoffed at that word."As for its origin… I must admit, I do not know where it began.”Oh please. You don’t know?
