Nicholson's POV

"Thea." I shot to my feet and rounded the table, crouching down where she laid.

"What happened?" Mikayla asked, appearing beside me.

I ignored her as I placed a hand to Thea's pulse and to my uttermost relief, she was still alive. I didn't pause to think about the immediate relief which washed over me or how lofly my heart thumped in my chest.

"We should probably-" Callum began trying to carry Thea up but I growled and my wolf threatened to surface, effectively cutting off whatever he was about to say.

My wolf was restless and didn't want anyone else remotely close to Thea and I fought the urge to shift.

Callum looked at me skeptically for a moment before he slowly retreated, I could tell he knew I was fighting for control.

"She needs to go to the pack doctor Nic." He told me softly.

I scooped Thea in my arms, ignoring her scent as I shielded her from everyone else. I knew Callum was right but the last thing my wolf wanted to do was let her go.
