Nicholson's POV

I barged into my office and began pacing as I waited for Amalthea. A few seconds later she walked into the room and stood cautiously by the door.

"Close the door, I'm not an animal. I won't pounce on you." I gritted out and she just gave me a lopsided smile.

Some of the rage I felt dissipated as I silently stared at her and for a moment I imagined we were back at her door. I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if Mikayla hadn't interrupted us. From the deep red staining her cheeks I knew Thea was thinking about the exact same thing and that just made me want her all the more.

"You wanted to see me?" She asked meekly, looking anywhere but at my face and I knew she was embarrassed.

I struggled to remember why I was mad at her in the first place and why I had asked to see her.

"Why were you training?" I asked as I stared at her with a blank expression.

"Because I felt up to it." She said slowly as she shrugged and some of my rage stoked at her words.
