Chapter 06

"Really?" Ryan asked, and Aiden nodded, taking his eyes off me.

I moved closer to them "How's that possible?" I said, sitting on the edge of the bed. Adrian smiled and sat up on the bed moving closer to me. I tilted my hea slight backwards when his face got too close. A smirk played on his lips before he moved away slightly.

"I don't know, that's just how it works" He said with a shrug.

Ryan also sat beside me. "So, what if your mate's a twin.. like Arielle here" He suddenly said and my heart skipped a bit.

'Like Arielle here?' what did he mean? Why was he so specific? 'Probably 'cause you're a twin, dummy' my subconscious snapped at me. I scoffed inwardly and raised my head to Aiden who looked like he was in thoughts, his eyebrows slightly twitching, his eyes on me before looking away.

"In that case, it depends, I think" He responded flatly. Ryan's brows rose, so did mine.

"It depends? You think?" Ryan asked at once.

"So, you're not sure?" I asked before Ryan could and he nodded.

"Wow" I muttered under my breath.

"Well, it's fine. There's like a 0.1 probability your mate would happen to be a twin. You'll be fine" Ryan said and I saw Aiden nod in agreement from the corner of my eyes.

He nodded? So, he agreed, he practically agreed there's no way on earth I could be his mate, I mean not really but still, he did.

What about Ariana? Doesn't a little part of him wish she was his mate? Probably not, right? She's an omega, and he's the alpha prince. Totally impossible, and totally unacceptable.

"Well, since your birthday is in three days, we better start preparing" Ryan said at once, getting off the bed in one swift motion, and of course, dragging me up with him.

Oh god, I hated him so much. I'm too weak to be pulled swiftly like that with no warning.

Aiden seemed to have noticed as he also got off the bed and moved closer to me, his palm on my forehead before I could blink.

My breath hitched- I held my breath, trying so hard not to take just one sniff on his scent.

"Do you feel dizzy?" He asked carefully. I let out an annoyed scoff, stepping away from his touch.

"Why are you always acting like I'll break if just a single thing happens, I'm not that weak" I muttered the last part to myself, of course. The last thing I wanted was him getting mad at me again.

Ryan moved closer and I noticed his gaze softened as he accessed me carefully, Aiden's palm was now back on my forehead, and Ryan holding my arms as he assessed me from head to toe.

"You're fine, right? I didn't mean to pull you that fast" Ryan said, it was then I noticed the concerned look he had on.

"Alright, you two stop!" I suddenly raised my voice and their grip on me fell as they flinched slightly.

"You two are so extra, and annoying!" I snapped with a huff, grabbed my bag and stormed off, pretending to be angry.

I heard Ryan's chuckle and him.. "cute" I stopped on my tracks. He.. just called me cute. I turned slowly to see a little smile on his face. I raised my brows and the smile dropped slowly. "What?" He mouthed, probably confused.

I shook my head slowly, in two calculating moves before turning and walking out.

As I walked right out of his room, I came face-to-face with Alpha Caden and I bowed 90 degrees immediately.

I looked up slowly to see his cold gaze as he accessed me carefully, more like judging me.

"Wh..

Aiden walked right out with Ryan behind him. My heart almost dropped to the floor when Aiden slipped his hands into mine, interlocking our hands together, as he pulled me behind him.

"Dad.." Aiden called, and Alpha Caden finally took his cold, judging gaze away from me.

"Is this what you do with your free time, Aiden? Hanging around with Omegas?" Alpha Caden said sternly.

"Why are you here?" Aiden ignored his questions.

His cold gaze finally dropped and his eyes softened slowly.

"Let's go on a hunt tonight, together" He said.

"Can I come?" Ryan chipped in, raising his hand in a swift motion, his eyes practically gleaming with joy.

Alpha Caden forced a smile then shook his head.

"Oh." Ryan muttered as he withdrew his hands slowly.

"No." Aiden replied flatly then pulled me with him as he walked past his father.

"She can come along.." He suddenly said, and we all stopped on our tracks.

"And Ryan too, of course" He said with another forceful smile as we slowly turned to him, our eyes practically in our mouth. By 'our' I meant just Ryan and I. Aiden barely looked fazed.

"Wow...

"What are you playing at?" Aiden said, cutting every ounce of excitement Ryan had.

"Oh please for fucks sake, just say yes" He groaned silently.

"Nothing.." Alpha Caden replied then turned to me. I took two steps in fear.

His eyes fell on our interlocked eyes, and I saw his jaw tighten but then he looked away with another forceful smile that looked like it could kill him if he forced it anymore.

"Bring them along. 9pm, don't be late, my brothers and his kids will be there too" Alpha Caden said as he walked past us.

"Isn't it supposed to be a dad-son time? Why bringing your brother and his offspring" Aiden practically mocked, and my grip on his hand tightened immediately in fear. He actually said so in a mocking tone, but I needed to put 'practically' in case Alpha Caden could read my mind or something.

"It was, but your friends will be tagging along, so it practically isn't anymore" Alpha Caden said curtly before walking away.

I let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding, and moved backwards away from Ryan and Aiden as I took in enough air into my lungs.

"Alright, you're overreacting now" Ryan said with an eye roll.

I snapped my head at him at once. "Overreacting?!" I half-yelled and he flinched slightly and took two steps backwards.

"Can you not do that again?" I faced Aiden and he only raised his brows.

"Not talk to my dad?"

"Yes, not that way when I'm here" I said, and his brows rose more.

"Why should.."

"'Cause one snap and I'm dead, okay?!" I yelled and they flinched hard this time around.

"He hates me, okay? You two know that, so don't do that around me, he could kill me, okay? And I'm just one weak omega with no wolf, I would die, like right on the spot. And I don't wanna die, not yet, so please" I said angrily, before storming off.
