Chapter 05

My heart sank. Why? We had agreed to help look for his mate. So, why was I feeling this way?

"But before then.." Ryan's voice sliced through my thoughts. "Let's get some drinks" He said and dragged me with him at once before I could object.

"Ryan, I can't drink" I snapped as he pushed me to a seat opposite the counter. The bartender who was an elf came out to the counter and dropped some drinks before us. I raised my brows at Ryan who only smiled. "I'm a regular here" He winked.

I sighed and grabbed a glass when Aiden took it from me and gulped it one go.

"You can't drink." He simply said.

"Excuse me? We're both minors, only Ryan is 18 and he's been drinking way before now, being a minor didn't stop him, I.." I grabbed another cup.

"..would like to drink as a minor too. I'll be 18 in three months, Aiden, I'm no kid" I said in a mocking tone as I brought the cup to my lips only for it to get snatched right from my lips.

"Aiden!" I half-yelled before Ariana came into the picture. She smiled.

"You're weak Arielle, that's what he meant. And weak people.. can't drink" She said and drank it all down in one gulp, then smiled before sitting between Aiden and I.

"What are you doing here, Ariana?" I asked, annoyance glaring on my face. She smiled before turning to face Aiden whose eyes have been on her since she arrived.

"I thought we were searching for a mate for Aiden, I came to help" she winked at him grabbing another cup and made to drink when Aiden took it from her.

"We're not here for that" He said curtly as he gulped down the content.

Ariana bit her lips and smiled. She was a light drinker and now looked tipsy. "Really? So what are we here for?" She said in a flirty way, leaning closer to Aiden who backed away immediately and got on his feet. Ariana's eyes shot up in surprise.

"Let's leave" Aiden said to Ryan and I.

"What?" Ryan's face shot up. "What about.." He tried saying but Aiden had walked far away.

"Thanks for killing the mood, Ariana" Ryan glared, grabbed my hands and dragged me with him.

Fuck Ariana. I was really hoping to get a drink. At least no mate search for Aiden. A smile slowly mustered up my lips as I walked behind Ryan.

Ryan opened the back door for me and I got in while he walked to the front door and got in and Aiden drove away.

"What are you doing?" Ryan asked at once.

"I won't find my mate there, don't bother" Aiden simply said and gave every other words Ryan said after no reply.

We got to ColdTown pack house, It was the biggest area in the entire pack and then we headed to the secluded part of the house where the alpha's official home was.

Our Luna, Marylin, liked her peace so much she made her husband build a different home for them, which was at the far end of the pack house.

It's not small nor big, it's modest and modern. The housekeepers bowed as we walked in while I bowed in return, Aiden and Ryan only walked on. The housekeepers were omegas just like me, every time I saw them, it reminded me of my fate. Omegas were fated to serve the alphas, as maids or housekeepers. That's all we'll ever be.

Aiden was the alpha prince of ColdTown, and Ryan was the alpha prince of Senhla Town, a neighboring pack house. ColdTown and Senhla Town have been friends for centuries, and Aiden and Ryan's dads were childhood friends. Hence, why Ryan got to live here. Despite being the alpha prince of Senhla Town, he grew up here in Coldtown, together with Ryan.

"Are you going to say something now?" Ryan asked as we entered Aiden's room.

It was simple and modest, not like the view you'd think an alpha prince would have. It wasn't my first time in his room but it sure was getting weird cause Aiden had just taken off his shirt.

It wasn't my first time.. seeing his bare chest, but right now, it felt hot, like the walls of the room were tightening in on us, like it was just him and I.

I let out a little cough as I turned my back and walked towards the paintings plastered on his wall.

"I will find my mate on my eighteenth birthday Ryan, that's how it works here. This is ColdTown, not Senhla Town" Aiden said with a shrug.

Eighteenth? That.. was in three days.

"So, what? You never thought to tell us?" Ryan said with a scoff.

"You never asked nor let me say a word. You two had it 'under control" isn't it?" He mocked Ryan and I. We would tell him whenever we brought it up. 'Relax Aiden, we have it under control' we would say.

"So, how?" Ryan asked and I also turned. My eyes on his chest.

He stood there, his broad chest fully exposed, muscles sharp and defined under the dim light.

His strong shoulders and sculpted abs led down to where his pants hung low on his hips, revealing a glimpse of his boxers. My eyes barely registered the sight before heat rushed to my face.

I quickly turned away, my cheeks burning. I shouldn’t be looking, but for that brief moment, I had. My heart pounded, and I bit my lip, hoping he hadn’t noticed my reaction.

"Well, I sleep then dream of her" He said as he fell to his bed. I turned slowly to him now, and was a bit startled to see his eyes were now on me. My eyes widened slowly as I stared back.

"Dream?" Ryan asked and he looked away, to Ryan.

"Yeah. On my eighteenth birthday, I sleep, then dream of my mate, the one girl I see in my sleep, is my mate" He said, his eyes on me the entire time.
