I couldn't drive, I wasn't 18 yet so I had to order a ride. It took twenty minutes to arrive at the pack house, and I walked over to Aiden's house.

The workers allowed me to enter without disruptions as they all knew me. I kept returning every bow made, I wasn't deserving of that, I was just one of them and would end up like that. An omega, born to serve the alphas.

I stood in the hallway that led to Aiden and Ryan's room. I stood still for a while, staring at Aiden's room, every inch of me wanting to walk right into his room but I wasn't here for that.

If you're wondering about his birthday celebrations, it would take place at the main pack house, though the workers also seem to be moving up and down taking care of some things here too, I guess to prepare for the event tomorrow.

I ignored the aching part of me wanting to go to Aiden's room, he might not even be there, must be at the pack house dining with the alphas and his friends, against his wish. But he had no choice, he would soon find his mate- tomorrow, whom the future of the pack rested, the one who would lead together with him, his mate, who's definitely not me, or could be, a part of me secretly wished, but I knew it was nonsense.

I approached Ryan's room which was just opposite Aiden's. My brows furrowed as I got nearer, the sounds I thought I've been hallucinating now clearer.

My brows deepened as I twisted the door open, quietly and slowly. My eyes widened at the scene before me.

Ryan.. fuck.. having sex with..

"Oh shit!" He half -yelled, startled by my presence, the girl under him, pulling the duvet to cover herself and I just stood there like a fool, unable to move. Why wasn't I moving? I had just seen my bestfriend.. naked and..

"Arielle.." I heard Ryan's groan and I jolted out of my thoughts.

"Oh.. sorry" I stuttered, embarrassed and walked out of the room, closing the door behind me at once.

Can't believe I just stood there like a fool. Gosh, how stupid. Ahh, I shouldn't be the one feeling embarrassed, he should. I had just seen my bestfriend fucking a girl. Come on, it's nothing, he's an adult and Ryan has been sleeping around for as long as I know, so why..

My hand found its way slowly up to my chest, why's it beating weirdly? Why does it.. hurt? What?!! Hell nah.

Of course, it's weird. I had just seen him half, almost naked.

I cleared my throat as the door pushed open and Ryan walked out, fully clothed now. I heaved a sigh of relief.

"Oh, great" I faked a yawn and his left brow only twitched in amusement, a smirk playing on his lips.

I rolled my eyes. "And where's your miss.. what should I call her?.. 'girlfriend' or mistress since you have a mate now" I asked, folding my arms.

"She's gone" Ryan said with a chuckle, also now folding his arms in amusement. I wondered why he still had that smirk on.

My brows furrowed. "Gone?.." I asked and he opened the door widely, I peeped in slowly and she was indeed gone.

My brows raised further in confusion. "Where?.. how?.."

"She's a werewolf, Arielle, we can jump really high you know" Ryan said, pulling me inside at once.

"Oh please, this place reeks with sex" I groaned and he only chuckled, bringing out a freshener to reduce the stinks. Truly, it did reek with sexs.. and cum.. oh shit, no, I don't wanna think about my best friend doing that.

I shook my head repeatedly, shaking the thoughts off while Ryan now stared with amusement, his left foot against the wall, while he leaned on his back.

"So, why are you here?" He asked.

"Oh yeah, why did I have to come ruin your fun,.." I rolled my eyes; "and do you know you have a mate now!? You can't keep sleeping around with other girls now, that's cheating" I raised my voice.

Ryan's brows knitted together in confusion before his forehead smoothed. I cleared my throat. Okay, I was overreacting. Why was I overreacting?

"I came for my phone..I forgot it in your car, I think" I said, turning around awkwardly, and roaming my hands through his table, searching for my phone.

" It's over there" He pointed over to his bedside drawer.

"Oh" I mouthed as I walked over to it, and grabbed my phone.

"Thanks" I muttered.

"I'll take you home" He said, now walking over to the study table to grab his phone. "She's my mate, and I'm not sleeping around" He added, before walking out of the room.

I bit my lips slowly, hit my head slowly before dragging my feet after him.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean to pry" I said as I caught up with him, just down the stairs. He turned to me, his lips curled into a smirk.

"I'm not mad.." He chucked. "Just amused.." He added, turning away and descending the stairs.

My brows raised, "why?" I asked, increasing my pace after him.

"Nothing, just amused" He said simply as we got outside and now headed to his car.

"You said that was your mate?" I asked again, he nodded, opening the car door for me to enter. I looked at him for a split second, then muttered a "thanks" before entering. He shut the door behind me and walked over to the driver's side and got in, igniting the engine.

"So.." I started again. "She's your mate? So why did she run?" I asked. We never actually never got to see his mate, not even once since he met her, and he never mentioned much about her anyways.

Why? Was she not to his taste? Was she.. *gasps* weak? He's an alpha, he couldn't have a weak mate.

I took a glance at him before looking forward again. I should ask him about that later.
