Chapter 14

Aiden turned to me with a raised brow and a concerned look. "What's wrong?" He asked, slowly dropping the can in his hands, and walking over to me.

"Wh..what?" I could only say. Oh, I was.. hallucinating? No? It was just another one of my weird thoughts.

Aiden wasn't a freak like that, if anyone was, it would be Ryan. Aiden would never say things like that, he sure flirts but I've barely ever heard him talk about girls.. nor sex.

His brows raised. "Sex?" He asked out loud.

"What?!" I snapped, shocked. Did I say the last word out.

"Are you thinking about sex? Your face is all red" Was all he said as he stepped away from me, grabbing the can again and emptying the content into his mouth.

Okay, this was weird and I needed to find an answer. Could he read my thoughts? Ryan too? Why? That was impossible. Werewolves can't read minds, we can only mind link, by 'we' I'm definitely not included, I can't do that, 'cause I have no wolf yet.

My sister found her wolf when she was thirteen, and now we're both eighteen ,and only one of us was still with a wolf.

"No, I'm not thinking about sex" I finally said after a long time. He dropped the can and nodded, uninterested and went back to snooping.

"What are you doing here?" I had to ask again. He couldn't be here just because he saw me come to his house and didn't say 'hi' when we were just at school together. I took a glance at the time, and it was six pm. It was getting late.

"You should leave, tomorrow is your birthday. You need to rest and sleep for all that's to come tomorrow, including finding your mate" The last words left a sour taste in my mouth but I covered it with a smile.

"Hmm, I had to leave home because of that. There's too many people at the pack house today, hmm, I don't like that, people." He simply said, now seemingly taking interest in an old book.

Um.. he shouldn't be reading that. But, it doesn't matter anyways, he was going to find his mate tomorrow and all this little annoying obsession I had for him would go away. Maybe not little, but anyways.

He turned to me and raised the book up. "An Alpha and An Omega? Seriously?" He asked, like he was disgusted. Oh. So, he also thought that was ridiculous. Well, it was. He's an alpha and it was practically a curse he was mated to an omega- like me. I should toss that book away before Ryan sees it too and gets offended. I wrote the book when I was twelve, yeah, I've liked Aiden since as long as I've known him. And that was when I first met him.

It was at a park where I was playing with Ariana, who as usual was enjoying picking on me. We were just six.

"Ariana, give it to me! It's mine!" I screamed in tears, running after her as she took my coloring book holding it up and running away.

She said I was being a kid for playing with a coloring book. She didn't have one, and I shouldn't either. Ariana had been like that since I was a kid. We were twins and we should be twins. Whatever she wore, she wanted me to wear and whatever she did, I had to too. Wherever she went, she wanted me there. Whenever people came visiting and said we looked too similar and it was hard to distinguish between us, she would smile. And whenever someone was able to distinguish between us easily, she would sneer at them.

"We're twin sisters Arielle, we have the same face. We are one, and we should look like one." She would say to me.

And when I fell while playing hide and seek with her, at age ten, carving a scar just below my lips. Ariana hated me since then. She screamed and yelled at me, claiming I did that purposely cause I didn't want to be twins with her. And that was the beginning of our 'sibling rivalry' well, there was practically no rivalry, except hate. I was no match for Ariana. She was better in every way possible.

"Ariana, please" I yelled in tears, running after her. "No, Arielle! We're six now, no more playing with that, I don't like it, you shouldn't too" She yelled back at me, and at once ripped a page apart. I fell with a scream.

Ariana ripped more pages and threw it in the pool behind her.

"How dare you!" I screamed at once and charged at her with my tiny legs. "I hate you!" I screamed and grabbed her hair.

"Leave me alone!" She screamed back as we both struggled, grabbing and pulling each other's hair, but Ariana had the upper hand. She was stronger than me, she was always stronger than I was.

She turned me and pushed me to the pool. A scream erupted from my lips which was muffled immediately as the water engulfed me. I couldn't swim, I was just six, neither could Ariana.

I was struggling to breathe or move, kicking my feet and screaming for help.

"Aria.. Ariana.." I struggled to call.

She was in distress too, she couldn't swim either. "Arielle.. " she cried. "I'll go get mom.." She said, hurrying away in tears.

"No.. please.. don't leave me" I said, as more water filled my lungs, my feet and arms kicked up against the water.

And at once, a tiny body jumped into the water, pulling me to the edge of the pool. He got out and grabbed my hands, pulling me up. And there he was, the most beautiful werewolf I had ever laid my eyes on.

"Hi, I'm Aiden. Are you okay?" He asked, staring and studying every inch of my face and body intently.

"How did you get in there? Did someone push you?" He was too coherent and expressive for a six year old. I could only nod at his never-ending questions.
