And when Ariana came over with mom who carried me in her arms immediately, and took me home.

But before we left, I saw his eyes lingering, not on mine, but Ariana as he watched her in amusement. Had he never seen a twin, I had thought.

And that was how we became friends, mom worked for the alpha and she knew he was the alpha son. Ariana and I had no idea. Mom got permission from the alpha to appreciate his son with a meal for saving his daughter and he agreed since mom was one of his commendable workers.

Aiden came over, and brought his friend along who had insisted on coming- Ryan. And that was how a long time friendship was built in two days?

I chuckled out loud and Aiden raised his brows, before shaking them. "You've been lost in your thoughts for days now. Care to share whatever is going on in there?" He asked in a mocking tone. I only shook my head, with a scoff. I snatched the book from his hands before he could realize.

"It's a ridiculous book, I know, you don't have to plaster it all over my head" I said with a low hiss, tucking the book back on my mini shelf.

Aiden raised his brows and crossed his arms. "Ridiculous? Who said anything about that?" He asked. I turned to him, arching my brows.

"Isn't that what you meant by.."

"No? I meant the title. It sounds too cliche for me. There's nothing wrong with the theme however" He said, like he was some book master.

A smile crept up my lips before I could realize. He didn't think my little fantasy was a joke. I was glad.

"Yeah I know. The title sounds horrible, I wrote it when I was twelve, pretty young, right?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yeah, you tried for a twelve year old" He muttered, grabbing the book from the shelf again. I raised my brows. "And since when are you interested or know this much about books?" I asked.

"Since you started writing. I've read most of your books, just this one.." He said, staring down at the book with intense care. "I haven't read it yet" He muttered and jumped on my bed, on his butt.

My brows raised, my eyes widened. "You've read all of my books?" I asked in amusement.

He simply nodded. "Not all, most. Can't find some online" He muttered. "Wow" I could only mutter. That was impressive, I never thought I had anyone I know read my books. I couldn't help but feel proud.

"Why do you read them?" I asked slowly, walking over to the bed.

" 'Cause you're my best friend and a talented writer?" He said with a shrug. 'Best friend' of course I was his best friend. He didn't read them because he was in love with me or anything.

The door suddenly pushed open and Ariana came in, also dressed in her night gown. Her brows raised as she looked at Aiden, then back at me, at Aiden again, then me, eyeing us suspiciously.

She crossed her arms. "What's a guy doing in your room this late?" She asked in her little voice which I found annoying.

I scoffed and walked back to my seat. "None of your business. Why are you here?" I asked. "Answer my question!" She snapped. My brows dipped. "Excuse me? He's my best friend, and this isn't his first time being here this late, is it?" I asked, surprised as to why she was making a big deal out of this.

"Well, probably cause most of the time, your 'other best friend' is always with him. But right now, it's just you two acting all cozy alone in secret."

"Excuse me?" I snapped back.

"And how did he get in? Definitely not through the door.. did you sneak in?" She turned to Aiden at the last question, whose expression remained indifferent.

"Aria..

"He's turning eighteen tomorrow, do you know that? And he would be finding his mate, imagine how she feels if she finds out there was another girl warming his mate's bed the night before!"

I didn't know how I reached there, if I walked or ran, but I did, my eyes landed on her cheeks immediately. She was shocked, I was too, Aiden was too as he got on his feet, dropped the book and sped to us in a whoosh, pulling me back from Ariana.

Ariana couldn't believe it, her eyes turned red as she looked up at me slowly.

"Watch your mouth! I'm no slut like you!" I snapped.

"How dare you!" She made to plunge at me but Aiden grabbed her hands. Her eyes widened as she looked up at him.

"Seriously? You watched her slap me but I can't even touch her!.." She yelled at his face but he only tightened his grip.

"Leave." He said. "You're a jerk!" She muttered, snatched her hands from his grip and stormed out.

I sighed as Aiden turned to me. "I.."

"Don't do that again" He said curtly, and before I could blink, was gone like he was never here...only the widely opened window was a proof that he had left and his scent still lingering, a proof he once was here.

I ruffled my hands through my hair. What did I just do? Did I just slap my twin sister? And I called her a.. slut, all because she stared at the obvious?

Aiden would soon find his mate, and it was wrong for me to be in an enclosed space, with him alone, regardless of how close we were. Ariana was right and had stated the obvious, even if she did it in a wrong way, she was right, and I had responded to her with a slap.

I was a horrible being. She was right, no werewolf would be glad to hear their newly found mate had a girl stuck by their ribs, and how would I ever face her if she found out I was just with her mate the night before. No.. I shouldn't. I shouldn't go to his birthday party. I can't handle the guilt. And so, I decided.
