LOGINLUCIA~
My heart thumped fearfully in my chest as rows of maids bowed before her and rows of them came after me as soon as the car that was sent to pick me stopped in front of the gigantic building.
Before leaving, Jenny cried as if there was no tomorrow. If I was to act based on her demands, then I won't leave today.
But for the sake of revenge... Teja's death, I need to sever the cursed bond that binds me to my sister's killer, I pacified Jenny. "I'll be back soon. Just give me a month"
After the old lady left, they sent me this expensive wedding dress and sent the biggest make-up artists in the pack to dress me up.
Now, I'm standing before his home.... 'Teja. Just a step closer to avenging you' I thought, before taking a ginger step and entering the building.
In terms of wealth and opulence, this house could be graded as an all rounder. I believed he was rich, but this is way out of my imagination.
The floor was marble and crystal. Looking up, the expensive chandeliers glowed silver, adding allure to the already white walls.
My inner bravado was shaken for a while, just by looking at this house. 'Will I be able to do this?' I wondered, but my wolf reassured me.
When we got to a crossroads, that straight-up leads to the living room and the door on the left led to stairs and the right led to the elevator.
"My lady, use the stairs and wait in the first room by your door. The Alpha will join you soon." The usher told me with a bow.
I heaved a long sigh. Faced the left and hesitated for a while before climbing the stairs steeply. Anyhow it's going to be.... 'You have to be strong, Lucia. Teja is waiting'
If the hallway that I passed was wealth and opulence, then this room was heaven. I couldn't help the gasp that escaped my lips immediately I opened the door to see the king-sized bed. Its headboard was adorned with tiny shiny particles that shone brightly.
Looking to my left was a long couch that was inviting me to sit, but I hesitated. I didn't come here to ogle at the house. I came here to murder!
Still standing in the middle of the room in the heavy wedding dress, the door was knocked open with a loud thud and through the dim purple and red lights, I saw the shadow of the mate that took my virginity.
The mate bond appeared at this moment. He was completely in the room, but I couldn't see his face that clearly.
He stopped just some steps away from me. My heart thumps harder against my ribs.
"Mate?" His voice echoed throughout the room and it brought goosebumps to my body.
I gulped hard. 'Damnit, Lucia is this the time to ogle!' I growled and I bowed my head in embarrassment.
How I wish I could control it but still.....
"You... You're here?"
He advanced toward me. The thump in my heart increased and when he got to the middle of the room, I got a good glance of his face.
"You left hurriedly yesterday. I didn't get to ask you what your name is and...."
"You found that out already, right?" I cut in. Trying to make sure my tone and body reaction doesn't deviate from the cause I'm fighting for.
He smiled. A smile that haunted my brain and body in a way that I wished it never did.
A smile that should have gladdened my heart because he was my mate but only scared me to the bone.
I really wanted to freak out, but I clenched my fists under the gown. 'Get it together, Lucia'
"Sorry that it came unexpectedly. But mum won't let me be. She wanted to meet you and all that. So I had my men research you and... You know. I got your picture from F******k."
Few steps until he was close enough to hug me, I lost my cool and fell onto the bed, scattering the rose that was used to design the bed.
Even though I fell, the tall figure came closer to me, I was completely engulfed in his shadow, and there was no way to escape.
With bated breath, I manage to mumble, "What... What are you doing?"
He climbed the bed and loomed over me like doom. "I'm sure you missed me just like I missed you. The mate bond is stronger than I thought."
Another lump formed in my throat. My body was reacting crazily to his actions and the plan was for me to use this opportunity to kill him, which I should.
Jenny had planted a pocket knife at the hem of my pant when I was dressing up, and to use it, I have to let him sleep with me.
"Of course, I missed you too...." I whispered. Talking as seductively as I could.
He bent over, kissed my cheeks slowly. The warm breath spread to my neck and I almost drowned in pleasure.
"Your scent...." He draws it in. "Why haven't I met you earlier, Lucia?"
I gulped hard. "Fate decided to play this trick on us... But now that we're married, we can have each other as much as we want."
He leaned in again and kissed my lips this time, deeply.
I slowly guided my hand to my hip, preparing to get this over with quickly.
I promised Jenny one month, perhaps a day would do.
I closed my eyes as he continued to kiss my lips sensually. Finally, my hand was on the cold weapon and I stopped there, to let him get immersed.
Soon, he got immersed indeed and ripped the wedding dress off and his tongue found my bossom.
I gasped at this sweet torture until I felt I couldn't do it anymore.
I started to pull out the dagger but he stopped at that dangerous moment!
My eyes opened in shock. "Why did you stop?"
He got off me immediately. Like something struck him or so.
I sat up, my tits still exposed. "Alpha?"
His eyes instantly glowed, his voice turned animalistic, "Who really are you?"
My chest dropped and I gasped. 'Did he catch up or something?' My wolf was also scared. 'His wolf is going mad'
No! This can't be. He can't catch me this easily? If he really does, then I'm done for! He's gonna kill me even before I get to take my revenge.
Still faking a smile, I jeered. "What are you saying? I'm Lucia. Your mate and...."
"Stop lying to me!" He growled and raised the gown at a wind speed. His hand found its way to my panties.
Then he pulled out the small leather piece where the dagger was kept so it won't hurt me.
I gasped. He got off me and raised the dagger. "You wanted to kill me with this?"
JULIUS ~I find Lucia in the corridor, her back to me, staring out at the courtyard below. The meeting ended twenty minutes ago, but she hasn't moved. She stood there with her back against the wall, breathing slowly and deeply, like she was holding some heavy truth inside her chest and trying to keep it from spilling out."Lucia."She turns. Smiles. "Hey."That smile doesn't reach her eyes.“You handled that beautifully”, I said with pride, even though I was still concerned for her.She looked up at me, saying "Did you hear?""Wolves gossip faster than wildfire." I smiled fondly at her, even though I wasn’t really feeling like it.She reached up and touched my shirt, her fingers curling in them slightly.“I feel… different,” She admitted. It sounded like she just wanted to pour her heart out to me. “Not in a bad way. Just… shifted.”I cupped the side of her face. “You’re finding yourself,” I whispered. “That’s all.”She's here, but she feels far away.My wolf whines inside me, confuse
LUCIA ~The conversation I heard was all I could think of, I hardly barely slept. My body still feels strangely energized, it was humming with something I couldn’t name. The new way they looked at me, the whispers, and even my growing feelings for Julius, they all seem to be messing with my head.I pushed it all away with a sigh.Today, is not a day for strange feelings. There is no room for panic or confusion. I am going to focus on only Luna things today.I dressed slowly and carefully, trying my best to look the part of the perfect Luna. The pack house buzzed with its usual chaos. Wolves moved through hallways with purpose, nodding respectfully as I passed. Some even bowed their heads slightly, a gesture of submission I still wasn't used to."Luna Lucia," Axel greeted me near the main hall. "The pack Alphas' mates are gathering in the meeting room, along with some elder she-wolves. They're hoping you'll join them.""Of course." I forced warmth into my smile. "I'll be right there."
LUCIA ~When I woke up, the bed was empty. Julius had insisted we sleep in the same room, so he can keep an eye on me. But he must have left before sunrise, he said something about having an early start yesterday.I lay there for a moment, staring at the faint outline of his body on the bed. The warmth was still there, as if he just stood up from the bed. I reached across the sheets to touch it.When did I start missing him so much? A few weeks ago, all I had wanted was to kill him, but now I was missing him.“Get a hold of yourself,” I said to myself, pushing the covers aside. “You are fine.”Only that I didn’t really feel fine. Every senses in my body is heightened. I could hear the footsteps down the hall, I could someone humming in the kitchen downstairs. The smell of coffee drifted under the door, making my mouth water.I shook my head to clear it. Maybe it was nerves, or exhaustion, i can't say. I dressed quickly, settling for something casual, and stepped into the hallway. As
JULIUS ~The next day, the packhouse was already alive by the time I stepped out. There was activity everywhere, from the clang metal, to the laughter of pups. The men were sparring like they were preparing for war.“Easy,” I called out, my voice cutting through the noise. “You’re not supposed to kill each other during training.”They paused, panting, eyes wild. One of the young warriors, Hale, looked up at me, his chest heaving.“Sorry, Alpha,” he said, wiping sweat from his brow. “It’s… it’s the air. It feels strange today.”“The air?” ” I answered, stepping closer, my gaze sweeping over the group. A few others nodded, murmuring agreement, their shoulders tense like twisted coils. He nodded, glancing up at the sky. “Yes, Alpha. It smells like a storm’s coming. But there’s no storm. My wolf keeps pacing inside, sniffing at something I can’t place. And the scents, they’re sharper, too. Like everything’s amplified, but wrong.”I tilted my head back. The sky was clear, washed in gold. N
JENNY ~The packhouse was asleep, but I wasn’t. Sleep was for the living, and I’ve long forgotten its shape. I slipped from my room, bare feet silent on the cool floors, the night air was thick with something, something I couldn’t place.Wood creaked. Wolves dreamed. The hum beneath the walls carried her name. Lucia, Lucia, Lucia. The air vibrated faintly, almost like the low murmur of a song. The night had grown heavy with power, silver and soft, the kind that pressed against skin until you couldn’t tell where you ended and the world began. It had started yesterday, the shift. The moment Lucia woke something in herself, the entire house began to respond. I could feel it thrumming in the beams, in the bones of the wolves, in my own veins. She’s finally breathing in tune with the moon again.I told myself the warmth blooming in my chest was pride. But pride shouldn’t feel like hunger. My senses catch on everything tonight, the pull of blood vibrating in the veins of sleeping bodies, wa
LUCIA ~When I woke up in the morning, everywhere was too bright. Sunlight poured into the room, biting my eyes. For a moment, I just laid there, listening to everything. The hum inside me had gone down, but all of my senses were heightened, making the world so loud.I heard the sound of birds, the sound of people’s footsteps in the hall, the sound of Julius’s heartbeat somewhere in the house. It was as if the world had turned up its volume while I was sleeping.I sat up slowly, the sheet pooling around my waist. My palm tingled where the mark rested, faintly warm but calm, pulsing in rhythm with my breath. It wasn’t burning anymore. It felt… alive. It doesn’t feel like I’m waking up, I thought. It feels like I’ve been asleep for years and finally remembered how to breathe.Julius came in just as I was tying my hair. He stopped at the door, balancing a tray of tea and toast on his hands. He watched me longer than he probably meant to.“You’re staring at me again,” I said softly.“Tryi
