LOGINJULIUS~
Lucia's face was filled with panic and frenzy. So I was right about her that she had a mission as she agreed to marry me without a second doubt.
She reeks of blood and a quest for revenge as I kiss her.
The aura she embodied just now was different from the one she had on when I defiled her at the Moonbane Festival night.
I wanted to stop kissing her immediately I sensed the dangerous moment. However, I had to be sure and that's why I ripped her gown off and sucked on her boobs, just to detect that weapon.
"I... I can explain. I actually don't know that my friend hid something in my clothes... I mean I really don't know that...." She stuttered and sweat broke from her forehead.
I smirked, her actions right now reminding me of that ugly scar about me that I don't want to remember.
I unsheathed the dagger and pointed it at her, my anger building up despite the mate bond.
"Tell me, Lucia. Who sent you to me?"
"I'm not lying, Alpha. I really don't know how it got into my..."
I jumped on her out of my anger and held the dagger to her throat. "I can kill you right here and now if you say one more word."
Fear rented her eyes as much more sweat broke from her forehead.
I really don't care. The fact that she had the gut to bring a dagger here, alongside having bad intentions all these while hurts me as fuck and I hate it.
When the dagger dug deeper into her neck, almost slicing her skin, she pleaded, "I'll confess. I'll..."
I retreated back, but I was foolish. She used this opportunity and pushed me back, "How dare a murderer like you talk to me like that?"
Fear had given completely from her eyes, it now felt like she was acting all these while.
I frowned deeply, more anger setting into my brain. "What?"
She laughed simply but resentfully. "If I had seen your face, I wouldn't have given my precious virginity to you and I would have rejected you immediately!"
"And after seeing my face, you still jump at the chance of marrying me..." I scoffed. "I was right about you when I found nothing but criminal records on you."
Yesterday, I was so curious about her, given the way she left me at the hotel immediately she saw my face.
I had come back here and had my men find out anything they could about her and what I found wasn't pleasant.
She's been in and out of jail so many times. No identifiable family except for her friend that lives with her.
If not for Mum had seen her picture on my table, then I wouldn't be in this dangerous spot now.
All attempts to stop Mum from going to find her were futile. I didn't even know she left with the marriage proposal and it was this morning that I learnt that I would be getting married!
She yanked off the veil at the back and stripped the gown away. "You don't deserve to be my husband! I'm rejecting you right now!"
I smirked at her foolishness. "You can only say that if you're not in my house or worse still... On my bed"
I pushed her against the bed and she fell. Her eyes were glowing embers of anger and fear that I really hated so much.
But what do I do now that she's smoking hot in that pink bra and jean shorts and by the way, I'm ruining my pre-planned wedding night to snooze on her booze.
"Get off me!" She shrieked. "I won't let you finger my holes with those hands you used to murder my sister!"
That word struck me. I stopped fondling her boobs and looked at her urgently. "You say what?"
"You see?" She used this opportunity of my golden silence to slip out of my grip. "You can't even deny you didn't do it! You bastard, you murdered Teja!"
Now, I really can't take this madness anymore. I grabbed her hand and pulled her under me again. "Tell me what you mean by that or else I'll kill you right here and now!"
"Kill me. Kill me like you killed my sister and then take the medal for killing two siblings!" She screamed again.
I was forced to release her as I didn't understand a thing about what she was insisting on.
When I researched her, I knew she had lost her sister ten years ago, but saying I'm the murderer.....
She ran out of the bed and madly into the bathroom. Shortly afterward, I heard the sound of running tap. I laid on the bed lifeless.
What a nice way to ruin my wedding night!
Still sprawling on the bed, she came back, but this time wearing my bathrobe.
I frowned in confusion, "Why are you wearing my things? You're not allowed to..."
"Have you forgotten we're married?" Her tone was curt and rude, but I didn't mind it.
She grabbed a pillow beside me and went to the couch. "I have to be prepared In case you're planning my death too."
I chuckled darkly. Only if she knows I don't sleep.
"Enjoy your night, see you in the morning"
I dashed toward the door. She reached out as if to ask where I'm going or what I'm doing, but I exited the door before she could say anything.
Axel, my beta, came out of nowhere and joined me as we moved toward my office in the hallway.
"Why are you leaving your bride so soon?" Axel asked immediately we got into the office.
I sank into my swivel chair noisily. "This is not the time to fuck around, Axel."
"But at least, you have to....."
"Get me more details about her!" I commanded, not giving him more time to argue with me. I'm tired of arguing all day.
He bowed and left only to come back shortly with a laptop.
His expression was grave and I wondered what he saw this time.
"This is bad Alpha"
I got on my feet immediately I heard this. Axel is never used to putting on a serious and tight face like this.
Without asking further, I snatched the laptop from him and saw the picture of another woman there....
I mean that woman that made me and also broke me.
I fell back, letting the laptop fall on the table. "Why... Why did you bring this?"
"That is her sister. Her real name is Teja and not Evelyn!"
My wolf growled! She's Evelyn's sister! Evelyn is Teja!
No.
JULIUS ~I find Lucia in the corridor, her back to me, staring out at the courtyard below. The meeting ended twenty minutes ago, but she hasn't moved. She stood there with her back against the wall, breathing slowly and deeply, like she was holding some heavy truth inside her chest and trying to keep it from spilling out."Lucia."She turns. Smiles. "Hey."That smile doesn't reach her eyes.“You handled that beautifully”, I said with pride, even though I was still concerned for her.She looked up at me, saying "Did you hear?""Wolves gossip faster than wildfire." I smiled fondly at her, even though I wasn’t really feeling like it.She reached up and touched my shirt, her fingers curling in them slightly.“I feel… different,” She admitted. It sounded like she just wanted to pour her heart out to me. “Not in a bad way. Just… shifted.”I cupped the side of her face. “You’re finding yourself,” I whispered. “That’s all.”She's here, but she feels far away.My wolf whines inside me, confuse
LUCIA ~The conversation I heard was all I could think of, I hardly barely slept. My body still feels strangely energized, it was humming with something I couldn’t name. The new way they looked at me, the whispers, and even my growing feelings for Julius, they all seem to be messing with my head.I pushed it all away with a sigh.Today, is not a day for strange feelings. There is no room for panic or confusion. I am going to focus on only Luna things today.I dressed slowly and carefully, trying my best to look the part of the perfect Luna. The pack house buzzed with its usual chaos. Wolves moved through hallways with purpose, nodding respectfully as I passed. Some even bowed their heads slightly, a gesture of submission I still wasn't used to."Luna Lucia," Axel greeted me near the main hall. "The pack Alphas' mates are gathering in the meeting room, along with some elder she-wolves. They're hoping you'll join them.""Of course." I forced warmth into my smile. "I'll be right there."
LUCIA ~When I woke up, the bed was empty. Julius had insisted we sleep in the same room, so he can keep an eye on me. But he must have left before sunrise, he said something about having an early start yesterday.I lay there for a moment, staring at the faint outline of his body on the bed. The warmth was still there, as if he just stood up from the bed. I reached across the sheets to touch it.When did I start missing him so much? A few weeks ago, all I had wanted was to kill him, but now I was missing him.“Get a hold of yourself,” I said to myself, pushing the covers aside. “You are fine.”Only that I didn’t really feel fine. Every senses in my body is heightened. I could hear the footsteps down the hall, I could someone humming in the kitchen downstairs. The smell of coffee drifted under the door, making my mouth water.I shook my head to clear it. Maybe it was nerves, or exhaustion, i can't say. I dressed quickly, settling for something casual, and stepped into the hallway. As
JULIUS ~The next day, the packhouse was already alive by the time I stepped out. There was activity everywhere, from the clang metal, to the laughter of pups. The men were sparring like they were preparing for war.“Easy,” I called out, my voice cutting through the noise. “You’re not supposed to kill each other during training.”They paused, panting, eyes wild. One of the young warriors, Hale, looked up at me, his chest heaving.“Sorry, Alpha,” he said, wiping sweat from his brow. “It’s… it’s the air. It feels strange today.”“The air?” ” I answered, stepping closer, my gaze sweeping over the group. A few others nodded, murmuring agreement, their shoulders tense like twisted coils. He nodded, glancing up at the sky. “Yes, Alpha. It smells like a storm’s coming. But there’s no storm. My wolf keeps pacing inside, sniffing at something I can’t place. And the scents, they’re sharper, too. Like everything’s amplified, but wrong.”I tilted my head back. The sky was clear, washed in gold. N
JENNY ~The packhouse was asleep, but I wasn’t. Sleep was for the living, and I’ve long forgotten its shape. I slipped from my room, bare feet silent on the cool floors, the night air was thick with something, something I couldn’t place.Wood creaked. Wolves dreamed. The hum beneath the walls carried her name. Lucia, Lucia, Lucia. The air vibrated faintly, almost like the low murmur of a song. The night had grown heavy with power, silver and soft, the kind that pressed against skin until you couldn’t tell where you ended and the world began. It had started yesterday, the shift. The moment Lucia woke something in herself, the entire house began to respond. I could feel it thrumming in the beams, in the bones of the wolves, in my own veins. She’s finally breathing in tune with the moon again.I told myself the warmth blooming in my chest was pride. But pride shouldn’t feel like hunger. My senses catch on everything tonight, the pull of blood vibrating in the veins of sleeping bodies, wa
LUCIA ~When I woke up in the morning, everywhere was too bright. Sunlight poured into the room, biting my eyes. For a moment, I just laid there, listening to everything. The hum inside me had gone down, but all of my senses were heightened, making the world so loud.I heard the sound of birds, the sound of people’s footsteps in the hall, the sound of Julius’s heartbeat somewhere in the house. It was as if the world had turned up its volume while I was sleeping.I sat up slowly, the sheet pooling around my waist. My palm tingled where the mark rested, faintly warm but calm, pulsing in rhythm with my breath. It wasn’t burning anymore. It felt… alive. It doesn’t feel like I’m waking up, I thought. It feels like I’ve been asleep for years and finally remembered how to breathe.Julius came in just as I was tying my hair. He stopped at the door, balancing a tray of tea and toast on his hands. He watched me longer than he probably meant to.“You’re staring at me again,” I said softly.“Tryi
