Chapter 41

Grey's eyes held a calm still look, but, beneath that gaze, Maya knew, lied a dangerous man who was acting composed before her, and his beta.

Maya shrugged. "I wasn't..." She began, and Grey interrupted her.

"To escape?" He asked her, daring her to lie, as he kept maintaining that composed demeanor before her. It was too calm for her not to be worried about what he was thinking, or what he was going to do to her.

She stared at him, squaring her shoulders. "As a matter of fact, I was trying to escape," she said in an unfaltering confidence which she feared would have her in one of those cauldrons she imagines he has hidden somewhere in the pack house.

His expression did not change, and neither did his demeanor. "Do you have a problem with me?" He asked her.

The question took her aback. She was expecting anything but that. Her heart pummeled rapidly against her chest as she stared at him. His eyes held hers in a steadfast tendency
