Chapter 49

"You have violated the heavens law, Alyssa, and you must be punished for it," the heavenly Lord said to Alyssa who was on her knees before him. She was was trying to steady her heartbeat, but she could not. The heavenly angels had been merciless with her before bringing her before the Lord.

"Whatever punishment you bring... I'll take it," she replied out of breath. A trickle of blood was visible at the side of lips.

"I'm going to give you one last chance, Alyssa. I have a proposal that will benefit you a lot," he said to her, and all she did was stare at him. "Decide between Verne, and your position as the goddess of this heaven," he proposed to her.

She scoffed. "We both know what I'm going to pick, Lord," she replied to him.

"You'll choose being with the demon lord and lose your position in the heavens?" He demanded, trying not to get riled up.

"Any day, any time," she responded boldly, and he could not take it any more.
