Several Days Later

A vase shattered as it hit the wall. "Where did that bitch go?" Rose demanded.

One of the servants who was unfortunate enough to be there to deal with their mistress's rage dared to say, "W-we don't know, miss."

She earned a slap for her troubles. Luckily for her, it was only a slap to the cheek instead of the whip.

Rose turned away from her servants as she gnawed on her thumb. "She must have been secretly mocking me behind my back. How dare she leave without my permission. How did she even run off without anyone finding out?"

The only reason she had allowed an unsightly thing near her was to make herself shine brighter. When they stood side by side which never happened, it was obvious who the better looking woman was.
