2- The Schedule

She woke up with the sound of someone ringing the bell to her apartment. She sighed then slowly got up, wrapped a silk robe around her body and walked from her room to the front door. As she opened the door, Krystal stood there holding a vanilla iced coffee. Krystal looked Kairi up and down, stopped at her eyes and sighed “You’ve been crying again” she stated.

Kairi walked away from the door and Krystal followed her to the dining room closing the door behind her. Her tan heels clicking against the wooden floor. She wore a tight black knee length dress with a tan belt around her midsection. “Not really.” Kairi replied collapsing into a seat at the dining room table.

Krystal placed the iced coffee in front of Kairi and sat across from her. “Here it looks like you need this” she said a gentle smile on her face.

“Thanks” Kairi said taking the iced coffee from her. The room was silent as Kairi took her first sip.

“You know I love you right.” Krystal said sitting back and Kairi just stared at her she knew what was coming next. “You have to stop doing this to yourself. It’s been two years you have to forget about him.”

“I don’t know who you’re talking about.” Kairi denied taking a sip out of her iced coffee.

“Don’t play dumb with me Kai!” Krystal yelled “I know that you masturbated thinking about Rhys then cried yourself to sleep.”

Kairi rolled her eyes knowing she was right, but didn’t want to admit it.

“Listen I got a plan,” Krystal started crossing her arms over her chest “I know you’re gonna be mad at me, but I set up a double date with me, Ryan. you and a friend of Ryans.”

“Krystal!” Kairi yelled slamming her drink on the table.

“Listen I know you’re upset but it’s for your own good. You need a new man to get your mind off of Rhys. For good.” Krystal declared.

Kairi just glared at her. She knew she was right, she had to get Rhys off her mind. The only question was did she really want to.

“Listen his name’s Dominik and he’s really nice, handsome and has a stable job. I think you two will get along perfect.” Krystal said with a smile. Kairi really loved Krystal, she was there when Kairi needed her the most. However, Krystal can go a little bit too far. Kairi just nodded and silence took over them.

“So” Krystal said watching Kairi as she drank her ice coffee. “Who’d ya fuck?”

Kairi looked up at her. “Do you really want to know?”

Krystal tucked her long light brown behind her ear and her light green eyes looked down. “I mean of course I have to know just in case anything goes wrong with anything or anyone.”

Kairi looked up at her “what do you mean just in case anything goes wrong?” Kairi asked looking confused.

Krystal looked at her. “You know I love you right?” she asked Kairi again touching her hand from across the table. Kairi looked down at her hand, didn’t say anything and took a sip of her iced coffee. “Right Kairi?” Krystal asked again “You know I love you right?”

Kairi nodded “Yeah, yeah I know.” she finally said putting her iced coffee down.

“And I’ll always be here for you no matter what you do or in your case WHO you do.” Krystal reassured her with a little laugh.

Kairi gave a smile “So you want to know who I fucked last night?”

Krystal nodded and leaned in over the table as if she was telling her a big secret, Kairi leaned in as well.

“Welllll,” She said dragging out the word. “It was just come Calvin Klein model.”

She laughed as Krystal sighed in annoyance “I thought it was someone important, you know something juicy.” Krystal wiggled her eyebrows.

“Ah,” Kairi started putting her cup up to her lips and taking a sip. “There is something juicy.”

“Well what is it?” Krystal asked eagerly.

“Well the model Right,” Kairi started putting her cup down and Krystal nodded.

“His name was Phillip.” Kairi paused taking a drink from her cup.

“Yeah and so his name is Phillip.” Krystal picked up her coffee and took a sip from it.

Kairi put her cup down, adding to the drama. “I kept on calling him Drew.”

Krystal started laughing spitting out some of her coffee in the process. “No you didn’t. And who the hell is Drew?”

“Hell if I know I just couldn’t figure out his name for nothing, I swore it was Drew though.” Kairi said shrugging.

“Well go get dress we have plans today.” Krystal said shaking her head.

“Yeah yeah whatever.” Kairi said walking into her bedroom waving Krystal away.

“What a lovely bitch.” Kairi heard Krystal said to herself, and she just laughed or shook her head.

After a hour and a half of getting dressed. Kairi finally came out wearing a pair of red shorts and a white tank top with the American flag in shaped of a heart on it. Her curly hair tucked away behind her ear. “Alright let’s go”

Krystal stood in front of her and looked her up and down. “Is THAT,” She gestured to Kairi’s whole outfit. “What you’re really going to wear?” She asked her best friend.

Kairi looked down at her outfit. “Why whats wrong with it?” She asked her with a confused look on her face.

“Kai dear,” Ariella started, putting her hands on Kairi’s shoulders “your going to work not to a play house with friends”

Kairi shrugged Krystal’s hands off her shoulders “Whats the difference?” She asked with a devilish smile. Then skipped proudly past Krystal to the door. “Come on we’re going to be late” she said sticking her feet in a pair of white and red Air Jordans. Krystal said nothing just shook her head and sighed sadly knowing that it was true for Kairi there was no difference between work and play time. It was all the same and there was nothing she nor god could do about her friend and her wild and crazy life habits. She walked slowly to the front door and they left.

The ride to the shoot location was pretty silent as Kairi stared out the back seat window. Krystal checked Kairi’s schedule for the day on her Galaxy Note 8.

Kairi sighed in boredom before she spoke as she crossed her legs. “So what’s my schedule like for the day?”

“Well,” Krystal started “at 1pm you have an appointment with that hot model Italian model Joe ...”

“Ummm can you reschedule that one?” Kairi asked her with a small smile and a somewhat pleading look. “Please”

Krystal looked at her with a blank face “Sorry but you rescheduled that one three times already, you can’t do that anymore so your just gonna have to deal with it.”

Kairi rolled her eyes in annoyance and looked back out the window.

“Dont worry dear it gets better” Krystal said teasing her friend while tapping her lap “You have Terrence at 2:30, Kpop star Lee Seung gi at 4:30 and The Calvin Klein Models at 7-”

“NO!” Kairi said loudly looking at Krystal with wide eyes. Krystal couldn’t help but jumped at the sudden reaction and put her hand over her heart.

“The hell” Krystal said lowly giving her a questioning look “No. what?”

“No Calvin Klein”

“No? why?”

“Ugh” Kairi rolled her eyes “I already seen Drew once today.”

“Philip”

“What?”

“His names not Drew, its Philip.” Krystal sighed.

Kairi narrowed her eyes. “Oh what ever Drew, Phillip ,Charles it doesn’t matter. To interact with him AGAIN would be like torture.”

Krystal looked at her like she was crazy “You know you're a Slut right” she said.

Kairi just shrugged “Loving every moment of it.

Krystal laughed out the question. She was used to her best friends' weird answers and personality by now but still... “So you want me to reschedule for tomorrow or next week?”

Kairi looked up in the sky and made mouth and hands gestures as if she was talking to herself. “I guess this weekend would be fine.” She said in a snobbish tone, “I mean if I’m not doing anything, or anyone. I’m a very busy and important woman you know.”

Krystal shook her head “there you go, you and that conceitedness of yours.”

“I can’t help it if people want all of this.” Kairi said running her hands over her body.

Krystal laughed. “This is all Rhys fault you know.” She stopped realizing what she just said. “Shit Kai I’m sorry I didn’t mean to-”

“It’s fine Krystal.” Kairi laughed it off “You can say it is his fault. He taught me how to have confidence in myself, to love myself more than anything else and that I was a fucking beast in bed.”

Krystal rolled her eyes “Yeah and look at you now Conceited, sex crazy and way to much pride for your own good.”

“Blah, Blah Blah, Don’t hate me cause you cant get laid like me.” Kairi laughed.

The rest of the car ride to the photo shoot was filled with laughter and conversation between the two friends.
