Amelia's POV

I dozed off for a few minutes before waking up to find myself thoroughly covered and snuggled by Eddie. I twisted around in his arms to face him and his arms tightened around me. He mumbled something about pancakes and somehow managed to pull me closer even though we were already as close as we could be.

I managed to hold in my giggle, but not my smile as I lovingly traced his features with my eyes. During the day, Eddie looked very much like the businessman that he was. But at night, sleeping next to me all cuddly and warm, he looked so much younger.

Daylight hours painted him as the epitome of steely professionalism – sharp suits, perfectly groomed hair, an air of unwavering confidence. But here, slumber had stripped away that façade, revealing a vulnerability I hadn't seen before.

His features, softened by sleep, seemed younger somehow. The worry lines etched across his forehead were relaxed now, replaced by a faint crease between his brows that spoke more of content
