Chapter 6

Scarlett Wolff

"Hey!" His eyes bored into mine, and I felt my walls tightening, my body hot all over.

"Hmm."

"I'm heading out." He said, maintaining a straight face.

"Hey, Scarlet." The annoying woman showed up, locking her arm with his as she stood beside him.

She was also dressed up, so I assumed she was leaving already. Finally!

'It's still early'

I wanted to remind him after checking the time and realised that it was just past 6am, but I dismissed the thought. Not that he was a baby, anyway.

"Hmm." I nodded.

"You know, Scarlet... I really wish to spend more days here and get to know you, but something came up, and I need to leave urgently." She pouted her lips, reaching her hand to touch my shoulder, and I felt my skin crawling in disgust.

"Looking forward to meeting you again." She patted my shoulder, and I huffed silently.

"Well, I don't want to see you again." I muttered, but she didn't hear me.

"Let's go." Lucien turned and started walking away after he snatched his hand from her, and she followed him.

I felt a sting in my heart, my stomach riled up with anger as I watched them leave.

I rushed back inside once they were out of my sight, and headed to the window side. Lucien was walking ahead of her.

My attention was drawn away by the sound of my ringing phone, and I rolled my eyes as I picked it up from the bed. It was Alexa. My best friend. I couldn't bring myself to ignore her call, so I answered it and held the phone to my ear.

"Hey! What's up." Her voice sounded through the phone, and I sunk deep into the bed, rubbing my temple.

"Hmm. Good morning, Alexa."

"Do you want me to pick you up today? We have lectures today."

I groaned. Almost silently as I checked the time.

"You don't have to worry. I will sort myself out. See you around in school later." I ended the call, and tossed my phone on the bed before going ahead to get dressed.

Oh, yeah. I'm still a student. A college student in her finals.

It was past 8am by the time I was done getting ready for school, so I picked up my backpack and swung it over my shoulder, checking myself out in the mirror one more time before striding out of the room.

I had to take a stroll to the roadside before I could get a cab.

I could barely concentrate on my way to the school as my mind was clouded by the thought of Mr. Lucien and that bitch he was with earlier. The thought of them being on the bed, kissing, and maybe fucking each other made my skin crawl. How could he do this to me? I've been keeping myself for him for years, I never gave any man an access to my body. How could he fuck any woman like it was nothing?

"We are here, Ms," came the cab man's voice, and that was when I realised that we were already in front of the school's gate.

Alexa was just stepping out of her car by the time I walked inside the school spacious compound. The garage had many cars parked in it. This was a prestigious school that only rich kids attends, so almost every single students has a car or two. Any student who didn't have a car was probably their choice, or the scholarship students.

"The hell, Scarlet! Where is your car?" Alexa shrieked, her eyes widening as soon as she saw me walked inside through the gate. She was graced in a pair of blue jean trousers, pink crop top, and a pair of white sneakers. Her blonde hair was packed up in two tight buns.

"My goodness! You look pale. Are you sick? Do you want me to take you to the infirmary?" She placed a hand on my forehead, asking with concern.

"I'm fine, Alexa. Let's go to class," Unlike every other day that I would joke around with her, I didn't feel like it today.

I walked ahead of her while she followed me, trying to catch up with me.

"Come on, Scarlet. Can you talk to me? You are scaring me. You don't look fine and you are going to keep it to yourself? What happened?" She didn't give up asking as she followed me until we got inside the class, and thankfully, the lecturer was already in class. My seat was already occupied by another student, so I had to make do with the vacant seat. Thankfully, Alexa found somewhere else to sit.

I could barely concentrate during the lecture, and after what seemed like eternity, it finally ended.

"Hey!" I rolled my eyes when I heard the familiar annoying masculine voice behind me. It was Derek Woods, the school hottie whom I didn't find hot. The only person who was hot to me was Lucien, and nobody else.

Derek has been on my neck ever since the first year that I got admitted into this college. He kept professing love to me, and even after rejecting him, he still didn't give up.

"Hey, Scarlet. Do you want to have lunch with me later?" He came to stand in front of me, his pair of brown eyes piercing at me, a smile spreading across his oval-shaped face, revealing his set of white teeth. The smile every lady in school would die to see, but I didn't find it attractive.

"No, Derek. I'll be busy," I told him point blank...
