VALERIE
My lips parted yet no words came forth. I was short of words, I was confused. I wanted to speak up for my defense, but I couldn't; it felt like Alpha Jonas's words had paralyzed me. “So, you are his Luna, after all,” Killian said, a mischievous smirk dancing at the corner of his little plump lips. Lucian remained unmoved as he glared coldly at me. “Why did you say you weren't?” He muttered in the iciest voice that I've ever heard. The hoarseness was somehow gone, its absence added fear instead of relief to my soul. “I… I,…” I stammered and glared at Alpha Jonas, hoping he would have a change of heart and tell them who his real Luna was. But the useless devil did nothing of such, instead he pursed his lips in anger and shook his finger accusingly at me. “You lied to them? You told them you weren't the Luna. How shameless can you be, Valerie?” He snapped, calling me by my name. My eyes batted in shock, I was petrified in wonder that I was dumbstruck. The two men stared from me to Alpha Jonas who kept insisting that I betrayed him and the Pack. “Alpha," he said, looking at the two men. “You can take her. I won't bother you about my mate for a day," he added and my eyes widened. “But–" “You still want to deny it?" He snapped, cutting me off as he glared murderously at me. I smacked my lips together and glanced over at Killian and Lucian. The two men were cold and unreadable, which made it hard to decipher what was going on in their minds. “What a dishonest and selfish Luna you have, Jonas," Killian chuckled and saw a satisfied smirk tug on Alpha Jonas's face. “I wish the Moon goddess never gave me this girl as a mate," he spat and a sparkle formed in their eyes. “I wonder what is so good about that goddess; she does nothing good," Lucian groused, and Killian nodded in support. My heart tightened at their words. That's blasphemy, how can they be left alive in the wolf kingdom? “Yes, you're right," Alpha Jonas quickly replied, and I threw him a glare, which he returned immediately. “We'll take her in exchange for your Pack," Lucian said and glanced over to Killian. I guess they mind-linked and decided to take me away. A large grin broke out on Alpha Jonas's face and he bowed his head to the ground, the way my stepfather did when he met Alpha Jonas. Killian walked towards me and I felt my heart freeze. I cringed back and hugged my body tighter, shaking my head as my teeth chattered. “Little Val, look up," his soft soothing voice made me peek at his face. He flashed a warm smile and I felt my heart melt. "Are you cold?" He muttered and I couldn't help but nod. The way he talked, looked at me, and even the chilling feeling his touch gave me made me think over the idea of leaving this wretched place with them. He might heed my request and let me go. He pulled off his thick dark jacket and wrapped it around me. It was huger than I thought and it helped in covering up my nudity. “Thank you," I muttered and he nodded, stretching his small plump lips into an enchanting smile. My heart leaped and I hid my face to prevent him from seeing my flushed face. “Get on with it quick!" Lucian groused, scowling at us in disgust. It seems like he wasn't any different from Alpha Jonas. But then I wondered, who was the Alpha between the both of them. I thought it was Lucian but when Killian didn't respond quickly to his order, I knew something was off about them. Thinking of Alpha Jonas's equal respect for both of them backed up my first thought. Who was the Alpha? My eyes darted from one to another but lingered longer on Killian's face. I wondered what I should call him. Killian? Or Alpha Killian? I sighed at the thought and glanced disdainfully at Alpha Jonas before getting up and holding the jacket tightly. I began to walk to the door but stopped and looked at him again, but my eyes flickered to Lucian's face, and I found his eyes staring keenly at my ass. My body heated up and my belly fluttered. I tugged on the edge of the jacket, pulling it down. He snapped his cold eyes at my face, knowing fully well that he had been caught. I was grateful that it was long enough to cover my bare ass. “Thank you for your mercy and kindness, Alphas!" Alpha Jonas bellowed and bowed his head to the ground again. Alphas? Both of them were Alphas. I snickered at him, chuckling, mockingly. Killian raised his brows, and Lucian snapped his head in my direction; Alpha Jonas tilted his head, glaring murderously at me. “It seems like you were a bad Alpha to your mate," Lucian said and raised his hand, stopping Alpha Jonas from defending himself. “Let's go," Killian said and held my hand, leading me out of the room. Everything happened so fast but I knew I saw him crank his head backwards and nod towards Alpha Lucian. I heard the slicing of a knife on some flesh and a loud howl; a thud followed after that, and then silence. Killian's hold on my wrist tightened and his pace quickened. My heart thumped loudly and my wolf, Jade, screamed that something was wrong in there. “Wait," I whispered, and Killian looked down at me, and my heart skipped a beat. The warmth in his mesmerizing ocean-blue eyes was gone. It was replaced by coldness, the same coldness dancing around Lucian's eyes. “What?" He snapped and a shiver rushed down my spine. His voice was still soft but no longer assiduous and soothing like before. “Alpha Jonas…" “You mean your mate?" He groused, darkness dancing around his eyes. I gulped hard, finding it hard to breathe. “Is he dead?" I managed to sputter out. He scoffed, narrowing his eyes at me. “Why? I thought you never cared about him?" He muttered and my heart twitched. Of course, I don't care about him but I never wished for him to die, did I? I parted my lips to reply but Lucian's sudden presence shut me up. He stopped walking and stared at me, then at Killian, whose eyes were fixed on him too. “He must be dumb to think that we'll have mercy on him," Killian said in an icy voice, and my eyes widened in dismay. I scanned Lucian's shirt which was covered with fresh blood that must have belonged to Alpha Jonas. They killed him, they heartlessly killed him! “Mercy?" Lucian scoffed and walked into our midst. Killian looked at me, his eyes full of hostility. “Now you have understood what has happened to your mate, right?" His venom-filled voice muttered, and I shuddered, unable to speak. The both of them leaned closer at the same time, and I found my numb feet desperately moving back. “You are going to pay for the rest of his sins," Lucian muttered and my heart constricted. “As our sex slave," Killian added and grinned sinisterly. My belly knotted and my pupils dilated. Sex slave? The same thing that I'd been running from. I burst into silent tears as Killian shoved me forward. I kept crying silently till we stepped out of the tunnel and into a large field. My belly knotted and I felt puke rise in my throat as I stared horrified at the dead bodies littered around the field. The soft green grasses were now mixed with blood that greased the beautiful field and made it a horrifying sight. I clasped my hand against my mouth, trying to stop the puke that threatened to pour from my mouth. I needed to get away from them, I wanted to disappear, I wanted to… I dropped to the ground and opened my mouth, letting the puke out. Their comfortable footsteps stopped and they looked at me. “Get up, you're wasting time!" Lucian snapped in his terrifying voice. I gasped out and looked around the field, tears gathering up in my eyes. Did they kill these people all by themselves? Did they come all alone and slaughter all these innocent werewolves? It dawned on me that these men, whom I thought were saviors, were worse than Alpha Jonas. I raised my head, peering at them with rheumy eyes. “Please, I need to urinate, please," I pleaded. The both of them glanced at each other and sighed. “Go over there and do it quickly! Meet us at the garage as fast as possible!" Lucian spat in his hoarse voice and began to trudge off. “Don't keep us waiting, little Val," Killian whistled and joined Lucian. I scowled at their receding figures then spun around and walked far off to the end of the field. Just like my pack, I was sure there'd be a way out through the field. Just like I predicted, I got to a high wall that possibly led out of the Pack. I ran back to the piles of bodies as fast as possible and dragged off two bodies, panting heavily. By the time I reached the wall, my body was covered in perspiration. I dropped the body on the other and stepped on it, making it easier to climb over the wall. I bit my lips, trying hard not to glance at the bodies I was standing on. I swung my feet over the fence and cautiously went over to the other side. I took a deep breath, shut my eyes, and slipped off. Pain shot through my body when I hit the hard ground. I stuck my fist into my mouth to prevent me from screaming out in pain. A tear slipped out of my eyes as I staggered to my feet and limped forward. I didn't care about the pain throbbing all over my body. All I could see at the moment was the uncertain future that awaited me from this place.DAMION I groaned loudly and tilted my head to the side, my eyes slammed shut. A pair of hands, which belonged to Michelle, were wrapped around my body. I swerved my head, pulled my eyes open, and stared at her sleeping face. She looked so innocent and harmless while she slept. I raised my hand and traced her jawline, smiling lightly in pity. Her circumstances and the cruelty of the world turned her from being a sweet, little girl destined for victorious achievements to a hated Villain filled with nothing but hatred, anger, and broken pieces that would never be put together again. Her eyes fluttered open, and I got hit with startling black eyes. "Hey, you're awake," I muttered. Happiness crept into her eyes and she grinned. "Hmm." I forced a smile into my face and kissed her lips lightly before getting out of bed. I walked over to the shutters and pulled them open, peeking out.Outside the room, everywhere was covered in pitch darkness, pointing out that I had fucked and sl
DAMION I jerked back and swerved my head in the direction of the door. My heart constricted as I gazed at Bianca, who stood by the doorway, her jaws dropped in shock.Michelle gasped and sprang up, gapping at her in horror. She looked at me, anger flashing across her eyes. She huffed in annoyance before turning to face Bianca again, a glare on her face. "What are you doing here?" She groused in anger and the poor girl shivered in fear. "The… the Luna Queen sent me over to serve you since you have lost your maidservant and my mistress is in jail," she muttered and Michelle scoffed in disdain. "The Luna Queen? Now she's pretending to care?" Michelle huffed and I threw her a warning glare. She narrowed her eyes and sighed loudly, heeding my silent warning. "Leave, I don't need your help at the moment!" She snapped at Bianca. Bianca nodded and muttered an apology for barging in before leaving the room. She sighed loudly and ruffled her hair in anger before striding towards me.
DAMION I was taken aback by her outburst and I couldn't help but stare at her in shock. "What did you say?" I muttered in a ghostly whisper. She sighed and looked down, stepping away before repeating her words. "You heard me right, I'm going to destroy the Nox family!" She blurted out again, a firm determination lurking in her eyes. My jaws dropped in astonishment, and I stood dumbstruck at the spot, staring at her in awe with her unbelievable words echoing in my head. When I regained myself from the daze she forced me into with her words, I burst into laughter, swinging my head back. I could feel the anger gnawing in her as she watched me laugh at her sudden repentance. I stopped laughing and straightened up, coughing slightly before turning into a serious audience again. My head tilted and my eyes dimmed as I watched her closely to be sure she wasn't trying to deceive me just to protect the men she loved."You aren't playing games with me, are you?" I asked, filled with suspi
MICHELLE I gasped in shock as I swerved my head to the side and stared helplessly at Lucian. "Ma'am! I told you not to hold her hand!" The nurse cried out as she rushed into the ward. I swiftly dropped her hand, my heart gripping in horror. Lucian's eyes moved from my face to Adriana's hand and his fist clenched."I… I didn't mean to hurt her. I forgot about the instruction," I stammered, shifting back with trembling feet. Lucian moved away from the door and began to approach me, his face filled with anger. "What the hell were you doing to my sister?" He growled in a voice that forced me to tremble. "I… I wasn't doing anything harmful." "Liar!" I cringed back and dropped my head in fear, avoiding the killing glare in his eyes. His cold hand reached for my chin and he forced me to look into his piercing eyes. "Were you casting some kind of spell on my sister?" He asked and my throat knotted in dismay. My lips trembled as I searched for the right words to say to him to avoid
MICHELLE I rushed to the garage and called out to Lucian before he got into the car. He paused and looked up, raising his brows in question. I placed a large, innocent smile on my face as I walked up to him. "You are going to see Adriana, aren't you?" I asked, grinning. He tilted his head to the side and hummed in response, the silent question of 'what do you want' still rotating in his eyes. "I want to visit Adriana but I fear they won't let me in if I go alone. I want to see how she is faring," I blurted out, fully aware that Killian hadn't told him of his suspicions. At least, the conflict they had between them has become quite helpful now. His huff snapped me back to the conversation and forced me to look at his face. A smirk of anger was evident on his face, making me wonder if I was wrong with my conclusion. "Why do you care so much about seeing her? Is there anything you want to know?" He asked and my throat knotted. What if I was wrong? What if he had suspected me
MICHELLE I couldn't stop fidgeting as I paced around the garden with Valerie's words echoing in my mind. I bit my fingers, thinking of ways that I could silence her before the day of her judgment. I had taken the risk of silencing Adriana and my maidservant, it would be a waste if I let Valerie expose me after all my efforts. But if I have to silence Valerie, then I have to keep the guards guarding the dungeon quiet as well. I groaned in frustration and turned around but collided with a maid. The coffee pot on the tray turned over and the steaming brown coffee splashed on me."Why is everything getting worse!" I screamed, feeling a burning, painful sensation gnawing on my skin. The maid went on her knees and bowed lowly. "Forgive me, my lady!" She said, trembling slightly. "Sorry?" I snapped, silently muttering spells that eased the pain throbbing at the spot the hot coffee hit. "Will your worthless apology heal the scalds on my skin?" I growled at her "No, my lady, but I wil
KILLIAN I stared solemnly at the clear sky then shifted my gaze to the ground below, watching as people bustled around the manor, moving in and out through the gate with different emotions scribbled against their faces.I had spent the night in the hospital, waiting for Adriana to regain consciousness and spill out the rascal that dared to attempt killing her, but with the doctor's persuasion that she wouldn't be waking up at any moment, I had to leave helplessly.Since the incident, I have tried to understand the circumstances surrounding Valerie and the connection between the disasters that occurred yesterday. The words she said still echoed in my mind but I hadn't brought myself to think about it due to what happened to my sister and the maidservant.Did she commit those crimes to avenge her father whom she claimed we murdered? Even if she did, what has that got to do with the maidservant that was thrown off the roof?I scoffed and shook my head, taking another swig of the alcohol
MICHELLE I gasped and staggered back, clinging to the cold wall with my hair springing up. "Damion?" I snapped, heaving loudly at the monstrous face he had on.He slowly got up and breathed out smoke as he marched towards me with a clenched fist covered in veins. I shrieked loudly and jerked my head to the side, closing my eyes at the disgusting mark on his face. "What the hell are you doing?" I growled, wrinkling my nose as the demon's disgusting breath hit my face. "Fucking stop!" I growled in frustration. "Why did you do that? Why did you make Valerie take the fall?" He groused. I scoffed loudly and twitched up my lips in disgust and mockery. "You expect me to take the fall after planning that for Adriana?" I snapped. "You should have thought of a way to escape before carrying out your evil-doing," he fired back at him. Anger surged through me and I gritted my teeth, glaring at him. "Get Damion's face back, you look disgusting!" I spat at him in disdain. My words took h
MICHELLE A gasp slipped out of her mouth when Neil dangled the necklace in the air. She staggered back, rubbing her trembling hand across her neck. She raised her hand and pointed at the necklace before her, her eyes as wide as saucers. "That… that necklace…" she stuttered, her lips trembling. "That is the necklace I sent to you, isn't it?" Lucian snapped, glaring hatefully at her. "I…" Valerie stuttered. Her lips kept trembling as she couldn't find the right convincing words to defend herself with. I smirked, knowing that I had done excellent work by trapping her.I had switched the necklace with a fake one when she refused to wear it this morning. I knew Bianca would persuade her to wear it which she did, but funnily, she wore the fake one while I had the one Killian and Lucian sent to her.My initial plan was to drop it in the ceiling space to trap her but it still came out useful here."Her blood is on it, which means you pushed her," Killian said, sighing loudly in disappo
