RAVEN’s POV

Selene’s words chilled me to the bones and left an ominous feeling inside me. I tried to clean the ballroom as she instructed, but her words wouldn’t leave my thoughts. I had no idea what she meant by her words, but I couldn’t wait to find out.

I had to speak to Victor.

I abandoned my task and walked out of the room, heading towards our bedroom. Hopefully, Victor would be ready to speak to me.

I froze when I got to the door and was greeted by a moanful sound of pleasure.

You have got to be kidding me. I was flagabbastered that he was fucking her, but what did I expect.

The sounds penetrating through the door stabbed at my heart like shards of glass, immersing my whole being in so much pain that I almost groaned out loud.

I stood there listening to her pleasure, listening to the man I love make love to another woman, and I assure you, it is not a good feeling, and jealousy is a horrid feeling.

My fingers dug into my palms as I fought to curtail my anger, not that I h

VICTOR’S ROVI hurried downstairs and out of the PackHouse with Selene on my heels to find the front yard full of people, mostly the servants. They all hung around talking about the escape, but none of them was doing anything to help. Furious, I barked at them, demanding to know why they were sitting on their thumbs while a prisoner was on the loose. Had we been under attack, would this have been how they would have stood around licking their thumbs? They scattered at my loud scolding, while I hurried toward the dungeon. I hoped when I get there they would have the traitrous bitch. My body shook with anticipation of the punishment I would deal out to her once she was back in my clutches. “Where do you think she would go?” My fated mate was doing her best, keeping up with my hurried steps. Another thing that amazes me about her. Her strength. Little wonder, she is an Alpha after all. Our union is of equals. I don’t have to feel less because I have a freaking Omega as a partner.

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Prologue

RAVEN POV Nightshade Pack, the richest and strongest Pack in the southern region, and I am her Luna. My name is Raven Darkblood, and this is the beginning of my story. Our world exists seamlessly with the human world. We have integrated ourselves into their society for hundreds of centuries, yet the humans are unaware of our existence, and our community prefers it that way. It is the middle of the night, and most of the Packhouse dwellers are asleep, but Victor and I are awake, lying on our king-size bed, while recovering from our lovemaking. On this eve before Victor's trip, we have been unable to keep our hands off each other. It is as if we are building up memories for when we would be apart. This is our second lovemaking, and as far as I am concerned, it is still insufficient. I don't think I will ever get enough of my mate touching me. Victor is going away for a few months on a business trip, to the far Northside of the country. Every Who's WHO in the business world will be

“You will always be mine, Raven.” The words echoed in the fabric of my mind as I transitioned from subconsciousness to consciousness. For the past few months, dreams have been all I have of him. I opened my eyes and stared morosely at the cream-colored tray ceiling. I felt wry inside, like someone had sapped all the joy in my life. I miss Victor dreadfully. It has been six months since Victor returned from his trip, and our conversations have been sparse despite his promise to call every day. Probably busy with conferences and networking. The latter is Victor's strong suit, one of the reasons our company is so successful. With his charming and witty personality, Victor could convince a mental worker to buy sand. It is a good thing he is coming back today. I don't know how long I can go without him, especially with...I rub my belly, feeling a spark of joy at what is growing inside me. Victor and I's baby. Ever the gentleman, Cassain reached out and caught her before she could hit the ground.I knew it was an act. Selina is a flirt, and Cassain is a handsome young man that any she-wolf would die to have; unfortunately for them, the boy of nineteen is waiting for his mate. Cassain's level of maturity and kindness are why everyone loves him. I completed the stairs while listening to Cassain question the servant in his arms if she was alright. He sounded so worried. I approached them calmly, not believing anything was wrong with the girl. When I stood before them, Cassain looked at me, his brown eyes clueless. "What do we do?" he asked. "She just fainted." I felt annoyed at the girl for causing such a kind soul distress. I played along since I would seem insensitive if I called her out on her actions. “Don't worry. Why don't you find a place to lie to her? I will get the smelling salts.” Cassain nodded and easily lifted the girl into his arms, probably what the girl wanted. Cassain i

Amidst the happy atmosphere at Alpha Victor’s arrival reigned a noisy speculation about who the stunning redhead perched on his arms is. Everyone gathered in the front yard was keen to know, including me. My foreboding worsened as I watched Victor's nonverbal interaction with the strange woman. I sensed a familiarity between them that worried me. “Do you know who she is?” Liora asks, casting a look at the woman. I shake my head. While watching the woman, I picked up things that caused my insecurities to flare up like an allergic rash. The woman was tall, slender, with perfect symmetrical features, her red hair glowing under the evening sun like fire. Not only was she beautiful, but she was also attractive, with a lovely athletic figure. The woman's appearance sparked a feeling of envy in me. For years, I have tried to cultivate a look like hers, but I am cursed with a lush figure that I can’t seem to shake. It pained me that Victor had yet to acknowledge m

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter Eight: A secret for you

VICTOR’S POVI directed the men with me into my study. The fireplace was burning, making the spacious traditional study warm and cozy. I opened the wine cabinet at the corner and found an opened bottle of brandy. I carried the alcohol, along with several glasses, to the artistic table at the center of the room. The table was carved by the best woodcarver in town centuries ago and has now become a historical artifact in the room. I set the drink and glasses on the table and went to get the box of cigars I had promised. When I rejoined the men, I passed the box around, and everyone took one out. I opened the drink and poured a glass for everyone in the room. “So a fated mate?” Dr Stone asked with a look of interest. I shrugged, but a proud smile played across my lips. I relaxed on the couch, legs crossed at the knees, and lit my cigar. I blew a smoke up the sky before forming a response to Dr Stone’s comment. “I mean, I wasn’t looking, but she crashed into my life like a fallen st

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter Seven: He is mine now

Luna Selene? Liora’s words echoed in my mind, breaking my spirit further. My best friend has accepted her. The feeling of betrayal weighed so heavily on my mind that I stumbled, and Cassian reached out to steady me. “Hey! Are you alright?” He asked worriedly. “I am fine,” I whispered. “Well, what are you dawdling for? Didn’t you hear me?!” Liora’s voice bellowed through the distance between us, sharp and haughty. I couldn’t believe it was my best friend speaking to me in this manner. I took a deep breath, straightened up, and faced the young woman I had known since childhood with a blank expression. Looking at her, all I saw was a stranger. “Quit gawking and come along. You don’t want to keep Luna Selene waiting,” she snapped impatiently. “Will you quit calling her Luna! Have you forgotten that your best friend is the Luna!” Liora laughed at Cassian’s words in defence of me.“I am sorry, Cassian, I didn’t mean to laugh,” Liora apologised sweetly, her tone false. I wondered if s

  • Lycan King and the discarded Luna   Chapter Six: Playing the weak submissive woman

Her presence at the award ceremony would pose a complication for me, but Lady Luck was on my side, and he came alone. Coming without her wasn’t something I expected after all, they were mates, but it sure reduced the fun I would have had snatching her man right in front of her. Still, having to crush her before her pack, and with their support, is still fun for me. The dinner finally ended, freeing me from my boredom. Listening to them talk about some building project bored me to death. “Are you ready to turn in, honey? You must be tired after the long journey, and I am sure you need your beauty sleep.” I turned to look at him, his handsome face filled with adoration for me. Oh you poor sucker. I still remembered to play my part as the weak city lady with no strength, enamored by her fated mate. I might be an Alpha, but since meeting Victor, I have been playing the meek role, letting him decide and nodding to anything he wants. By now, he must think I am like the pathetic women

Like I told you before, I hate confrontation. They make me break out in hives. Selene’s sweet expression seconds after she looked like she wanted to murder me roused unsettled feelings in my stomach. I felt like I needed to poo badly. “You are a servant, aren’t you?” the redhead taunted loudly. Looks like she is going for the jugular. The redhead seemed like an intelligent woman, and I know she must have deduced that I am Victor’s mate and not his servant. So, if she emphasizes my place as a servant, she could only be doing it to humiliate me. And if that is the case, then she succeeded. I lost the pride I felt earlier when I landed my first battle blow. My face heated with shame, and my posture deflected a little. I burned with the urge to scream that I am not a servant, but I didn’t want to contradict Victor publicly. It might seem like a challenge to the Alpha, so I held my peace, though it cost me several finger marks on my palms. “And?” I asked forcefully, keeping m
