Stella stood by one of the massive windows, her gaze fixed on the horizon, worry about Brian etched into her expression. Perla swept into the room and, spotting Stella standing there, didn’t hesitate to speak.

“What are you doing, just rooted to that window?” Perla’s tone was sharp, almost accusatory. “Shouldn’t you be making yourself useful?”

Stella turned, meeting Perla’s gaze as the older woman stood with her arms crossed, radiating disapproval. Brian had warned Stella not to let his mother push her around, but facing Perla head-on still made her stomach twist.

“I’m just worried about Brian and the others at the border,” Stella replied, her voice soft but steady.

Perla’s lips curled into a dismissive smirk. “You seem to forget who my sons are. They don’t need your fretting to handle a few werewolves. Don’t forget—your kind is weaker, inferior.”

Stella’s chest tightened, but she held her ground. “I know we’re not as strong,” she said quietly, “but Brian’s my mate. I can’t help but w

The rain drummed against the cabin’s windows, filling the silence as Andriel and Taylor locked eyes, the tension between them thick enough to choke on. Taylor decided it was time to speak plainly, just as Hugo had suggested, meeting Andriel on equal ground.“You really want to talk about motives and obligations?” Taylor said, his voice rising as he followed Andriel, who had started to pace. “The reason you’re so pissed about me getting hurt—twice now—is because you’re scared of losing your little charm here, right? Isn’t that all I am to you? The guy who keeps you from losing your mind? That’s why you’re so terrified I might end up dead?”Taylor’s words came out sharp, almost shouting, and as soon as they left his lips, Andriel whipped around. In a flash, he shoved Taylor against a piece of furniture, the impact jarring Taylor’s back against the wall. Outside, Hugo caught the sounds of their scuffle and, worried the other Lycan might overhear if they kept arguing, sent him off in anot

Rain began to pour, drenching the battlefield as the fight raged on. The rogue wolf who had attacked Andriel and wounded Taylor—their leader—lay dead. Realizing the battle was a lost cause, the remaining rogues who could still move turned tail and fled into the forest.Brian, seeing Taylor’s injury and the enemy’s retreat, barked orders to capture any rogues still alive. He hung back, approaching his brother. Daimon locked eyes with Frost, unsure whether the fury etched across Frost’s face was directed at him or sparked by what had happened to him.“I can get up,” Daimon muttered, his voice rough. “The bite’s deep, but it’s not stopping me.”His words only stoked the fire in Frost—and Andriel. It felt like Taylor was pushing him away again, just like he had in the forest. Andriel’s mind flashed to Brian’s earlier words about their bond.“Can’t I worry about you? Can’t I take care of you when you’re hurt?” Andriel said, his voice tight with frustration. “It’s like you only let me touch

  • Lycan Legacy: Between Love And Legacy   Duty Calls

After his heart-to-heart with Brian, Andriel took a quick shower, his mind set on finding Taylor. He needed to know if Taylor wanted to take things further, to see if the spark between them could ignite into something more. But as he approached the door, Hugo intercepted him.“Sir, we need to talk about the wolves that trespassed on your lands. They’ve been spotted at the border again.”Andriel’s plans shifted instantly. With a curt nod, he followed Hugo toward the study. Taylor, fresh from his own shower and still buttoning up his shirt, overheard the exchange. His mind jumped to the conclusion that Andriel was heading out to confront the rogue wolves. Without hesitation, he decided he should go along.Taylor wasn’t used to sitting idle in a room. Back in Philip’s pack, he’d been active—patrolling, taking on tasks, always moving. He loved letting Daimon run free, the thrill of racing through the forest, the wind whipping past. This was his chance to feel that freedom again.“You real

Perla stood there, her gaze boring into Andriel after Taylor slipped away. Irritation flickered across Andriel’s face as he broke the tense silence. “What did you need to talk to me about? Couldn’t it wait until I came downstairs?”“It looks like I interrupted something,” Perla said, her voice sharp with accusation. “How long do you plan to keep this up? Now you’re bringing him into your room?”Andriel’s jaw tightened, but his tone was firm, unyielding. “Since you brought it up, yes, you *did* interrupt. Mom, Taylor’s my partner. If he wants to spend the night in my room, that’s his call—and mine.”Perla bristled at Andriel’s defiance, her composure unraveling. “This house has turned into a circus,” she snapped. “You two skip breakfast, dodge my afternoon tea, and now you’re holed up with that… that *lesser kind* in your rooms. If you need him around to tame whatever beast is raging inside you, fine—keep him close. But does it have to be so… intimate?”Her words hung heavy, laced with

  • Lycan Legacy: Between Love And Legacy   A Game of Shadows

Taylor slipped out of bed to freshen up, his heart still racing as he slid back under the covers. Sleep didn’t come easily, not with Andriel so tantalizingly close, his presence a warm, unspoken pull in the quiet night. As dawn broke, Andriel stirred, his eyes fluttering open, heavy with the weight of confusion. He tried to piece together the fragments of the night before. He vaguely recalled slipping into Taylor’s room, but Taylor had been lost in dreams, and Andriel hadn’t had the heart to wake him. Then it hit him—flashes of confronting the two who’d schemed against him at the party. Anger surged in his chest, a smoldering heat that seemed to coil tighter, spreading through his veins. It felt like another episode was creeping up, that familiar, overwhelming rush. But how could it be? Taylor was right there, his presence a tether that should’ve kept the chaos at bay.As dusk fell, Andriel’s condition worsened. He retreated to his room, the world blurring at the edges. Everything aft
