ALPHA KAI

"What the hell?" I muttered under my breath as her eyelashes fluttered a bit like someone who was about falling asleep.

The gag is, she's supposed to be dead. Not sleeping, not awake, Dead!!

"Arya?" I called softly as I mustered up the courage to walk close to her and she fluttered her lashes a little bit more before shutting it completely.

What is this, some epic kind of joke?

I ran my fingers in front of her face but there was no sign of life and that left me more confused than ever.

"I know you're awake. You just opened up your eyes now." I stated, my heart filled with my doubts that I wasn't seeing things.

Was I imagining things?

"Flicker your finger if you can hear me." I stared back at the door and back to her. Something really ominous and frustrating was going on and the fact I didn't know what it was is really infuriating.

Another knock came on the door almost immediately and I swallowed hard as I kept my eyes on her while tiptoeing to the door.

"Who's there?" I questioned as I opened the door swiftly and was met with the inquisitive of Bria.

"Alpha, you look appalled." She simply stated while I looked around, staring at her suspiciously.

"Did you come here before?" I questioned and shook her head in negativity while staring at me like I had suddenly lost it.

"No, I'm just coming here." She answered straightforwardly still staring at me and I tilted my head in a questioning manner with raised brows.

"I just wanted to let you know that the ally's you called on their favour to help find Alpha Kavinsky is here already." She announced and I nodded.

"Bria?" I called and she raised her head which was formerly bent towards the floor.

"Since when did I become Alpha? Everyone has begun to get really comfortable with the title." She placed her hands over her mouth in a dramatic manner and then began waving her hand like in an apology.

"I'm so sorry, my king. Really really sorry." She apologized.

"I need you to do something for me And you must not fail at it. If you eventually fail at it, it would cost you your life." She took a deep breath like my words had made her scared of some sort and then nodded.

"Whatever it is, My lord. I'll do it effectively." I looked back at Arya's body and turned to look at Bria.

"I need you to stay here with her body. But this time, you mustn't take your eyes off her. I need you and her body to be here by the time I get back. I need to go speak with the Ally's." She nodded almost immediately and walked into the room as I shifted away from the door slightly.

"You can bolt the door from behind so as to prevent anything of the sort. So I won't be tempted to leave." I nodded and walked out bolting the door from outside.

Let's test out a fucking theory, I said in my head as I walked to meet the people who were going to help me fight Alpha Kavinsky.

That fucker killed my daughter, he can't even hide away even in death because I will find him and make sure I kill him myself.

On getting to the cemetery, the gates to it was left slightly ajar was I was sure that someone was definitely in there. It had to be something really incriminating if she had to come this far. I tried my best not to make any noises because one, you're not supposed to disturb the dead in their rest and secondly, I needed to catch her unawares so she wasn't supposed to know that I'm here or in search of her at that. I leaned on the wall just letting her have her moment of crash out because she look alike she needs it to be able to survive this whole conversation. "It's not really science and you're not the one getting married so you shouldn't think long and hard on it like that." She looked like she would pass out as she sat on the seat just peering at me like it would be her greatest joy if I just told he it was all a facade. "You are supposed to get married to my daughter." She stated, stomping her feet as she hit the table dramatically. "That table cost a lot. Wouldn't want to ruin it." I gestured towards the table and I think it pissed her off the more as she only slammed it further. "You can have your moment." I simply nodded and she took a deep breath turning to stare at me. "I wonder why I'm troubled. You wouldn'

ARYA On getting to my room, I pushed the door open and walked in, slamming it behind me. The second my door slammed shut behind me, I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding. I stood there, back against the wood, head tilted up toward the ceiling like I was praying—but to who? The Moon Goddess? The ghosts in the cemetery? The monsters in the water? Myself? Yeah, no one was answering tonight. It wasn't even up to a goddamn day after I and Kai officially sealed this deal and he was already wanting to announce to the entire pack. I mean, I wanted that but isn't it too sudden...for..? My boots hit the floor one by one as I kicked them off, then I stalked across the room and collapsed face first onto the bed. Everything was too much, Kai’s eyes, that grave, Bria’s stupid voice and now this announcement. It all spun inside my chest like a damn tornado. And yeah, maybe I should’ve kept walking. Maybe I should’ve pretended I didn’t hear her. But I’m not that girl. I neve

ARYAI stared at him.I hated how he said my name.Soft, careful, like I was some fragile thing instead of a ticking bomb covered in bruises. His hand was still on my face, thumb resting just beneath my cheekbone like he had the right to touch me, like we weren’t strangers tied by duty and rage and a deal that never included feelings.I slapped his hand away. Not hard. But hard enough to mean it.“Don’t,” I muttered, my voice thick and hoarse. “Don’t pretend to give a damn.”Kai didn’t move. Didn’t flinch. Just waited.“You don’t get to play the concerned fiancé now,” I said, the words gaining volume as I stood again—wobbling but standing. “You hate me. I know you do.”“Arya.”“No,” I snapped. “You don’t have to lie. Not here. Not behind closed doors.”The lump in my throat was sharp, but I forced it down, holding onto my fury like a lifeline.“If I died yesterday, you would’ve thrown my body in a ditch and found someone more proper to play Luna for your precious pack.”“Don’t be dram

ARYAAs I walked back to the palace, I smiled in satisfaction knowing that I was going the right thing. As I stayed in this pack, I would figure out who I really was and one part of me knew that I wasn't coaxed to stay in this new pack, this was where I was meant to be.To be honest, I don't even know what I would ask King Kai for yet if he asked again what I wanted my favour to be but I knew for a fact that it could come in one day. It's good for people to be indebted to you, you could take advantage of that at any time of the day.The sneers, snarls and whispered that followed my trail as I walked from the cemetery back to the palace didn't even bother me any longer. The sooner I start getting used to it, the better for the entire world.I wasn’t even inside for five full minutes before the palace reminded me why I hate people. The corridors were quieter than usual, the air thick with that sterile scent of fresh polish and secrets. My boots made a soft click against the marble, bu
