Fester, hunched over a cluttered desk strewn with documents and artifacts, sifted through the remnants of forgotten secrets. His weathered hands moved with practiced precision, a testament to the countless hours he had spent unraveling the enigmatic threads of the supernatural world.

In the midst of his contemplation, a soft, hesitant knock echoed through the room, like a distant echo longing to be heard. Fester's head snapped up, his sharp eyes narrowing as he fixed his gaze upon the door.

"Come in," Fester called, his voice a low murmur that carried a mix of curiosity and weariness.

The heavy door groaned as Selena pushed it open, her emotions spilling forth like an unstoppable force. Her eyes, filled with determination and a hint of defiance, locked onto her uncle's, who sat behind his cluttered desk.

"Do you need anything, dear?" Fester inquired, his voice gentle yet tinged with a sense of cautious curiosity. His eyes shifted momentarily to Levi, who stood steadfastly behind Selena, his presence a silent testament to their shared purpose.

Selena's voice trembled slightly as she spoke, her words laced with a mix of vulnerability and determination. "I need the truth," she replied, her tone a blend of urgency and restrained frustration.

"What pack are we from?" Selena asked her uncle hoping for the truth.

Foster cleared his throat, attempting to mask his own turmoil with a calm facade. The weight of his admission pressed heavily upon him, his voice faltering ever so slightly as he spoke. "About that, Selena... I don't know either," he confessed, his words a fragile thread threatening to unravel the tapestry of their ancestral lineage.

A surge of fury ignited within Selena, burning hot and unrestrained. The weight of disappointment and uncertainty transformed into a searing anger that coursed through her veins, rendering her voice sharp and laced with venom. "Cut the bullshit," she spat, her words slicing through the air like a serrated blade, challenging the very foundation of her uncle's guardedness.

His voice, though stern, carried an undercurrent of caution as he admonished her. "Watch your language, young lady," he warned, his tone heavy with the weight of familial authority.

"Why did you hide it from me?" Selena's voice quivered, her words carrying the weight of a thousand unasked questions. Each syllable hung in the air, begging for an answer that might quell the storm of emotions brewing within her. Her eyes, once filled with anger, now mirrored a vulnerable hope, desperately seeking a glimmer of understanding amidst the sea of uncertainty.

"Because, Selena," Foster began, his voice laced with a blend of remorse and protectiveness, "you are the last of your kind." The words hung in the air, a bittersweet revelation that echoed with the remnants of a fading legacy. He reached out, his weathered hand trembling slightly, and gently brushed a strand of hair behind Selena's ear, his touch conveying a tenderness that only family could know.

"My kind? Aren't you like me?" Selena's voice trembled, her words laden with a yearning for connection. The bond they had forged, their shared bloodline, had been the foundation of her understanding of their family's heritage. Now, that foundation crumbled beneath her, leaving her adrift in a sea of questions.

Foster's face tightened, a mixture of regret and resignation etched upon his features. His gaze met Selena's, a flicker of sadness shadowing his eyes. "Luckily, my dear, I am not," he confessed, his voice tinged with a bitter twinge of envy. "Your father, he inherited it all, leaving nothing for me but the weight of my own insignificance."

"At first i was jealous but i later saw it as a blessing"

"What happened to my parents?" Selena's voice wavered, the words filled with a haunting ache that echoed through the room. Her eyes, wide with a mixture of fear and hope, locked onto Foster's gaze, searching for any glimmer of solace amidst the shroud of mystery that enshrouded their absence.

Foster, his face etched with the burden of the unknown, felt his heart constrict within his chest. He longed to offer Selena the reassurance she craved, to ease the ache of her unanswered questions. But the truth gnawed at him like a relentless beast.

"I don't know either," Foster admitted, his voice heavy with a mixture of sorrow and frustration." We haven't seen a trace of them for the past month now. They vanished without a trace, leaving behind more questions than answers."

"We have to go find them," Selena's words were sharp, a declaration forged in the fires of love and desperation. Her eyes blazed with a resolute intensity, each syllable punctuated by the weight of her conviction.

"It's safe to presume they are dead," Foster's voice rang out, each syllable landing with a force that reverberated through the room. His words carried the weight of finality, an unyielding acceptance of a devastating reality. Selena's breath hitched, her chest constricting as the enormity of Foster's words settled upon her shoulders like an unbearable burden.

"No," Selena's voice trembled, her eyes welling with tears that threatened to spill over. "I can't accept that. I won't."

"Selena, I understand your reluctance," he began, his voice laced with a gentleness that sought to temper the storm within her. "But we must face the reality of the situation. We have no leads, no signs of their existence. It's been months…"

"I won't give up on them," Selena's voice quivered, her words a quiet yet resolute declaration. "I can't let go of the possibility that they're out there, waiting for us to find them. I won't let their memory fade into the darkness."

"How do I make you get it?" Foster's voice thundered through the room, his tone laced with anger.

Selena's vision blurred, a watery haze obscuring her surroundings as her tears cascaded freely down her cheeks. She burst through the office doors as Levi chased after her.
