(THE WOODS – WEREWOLVES)

"Where and when are we holding the ceremony?" Alpha Ronnie Hono asked his beta, David, as they walked through the forest.

"When I went to the Seer—" David started as he walked to lean on a tree.

"What did he say?" Ronnie interrupted him, already feeling bad news coming up.

David looked into the wind and spoke lightly, "He urges us to wait. He claims that…" he paused, not knowing how to deliver the last bit of news.

Ronnie narrowed his eyes, he could feel his canines growing out because was easily triggered, and that was one of his flaws. “That what, David?”

"He claims that Krisen shouldn't be crowned Alpha." David laid it out finally.

"Impossible!" Ronnie growled as his canines stretched to its fullest.

Krisen is his son and he had trained him ever since he knew how to walk and transform, he made sure the boy was flawless, so how exactly is he not fit to be Alpha after him?

"I probably did not get the message well." David said quickly. He did not want his friend going into the seer's den and threatening everyone, or worse, killing the seer.

"He must have grown too old for his job. If not, how could he have said a born ruler shouldn't sit on the throne and rule?" Ronnie felt irritated.

"I believe we should see him again." David suggested. If the pack hears such a news, war might break out within the pack.

They walked out of the wood, heading straight to the seer’s den.

(THE SEER’S CAVE)

"Son of Hono and father of Hono… you have come like I knew you would." The seer’s voice echoed, sounding like a creaking door.

"You say such frivolous things, of course I would make an entrance." Ronnie sneered as he drew his canines back in.

"Leave, Beta, the Alpha has ears of his own," the seer instructed, waving David off like a fly.

David looked towards Ronnie who simply waved him off, so he left.

"The back can never see the front even through a mirror. Alpha, you should beware of double-sided mirrors," the seer laughed in a cringe manner.

Ronnie had to shut his ear buds internally so as not to go deaf. "You must be having a lot of fun spouting nonsensical blunders," he ridiculed.

"Careful, Alpha. The rod might strike when it is hot, but the rod is not only dangerous when it is hot."

He splashed a little saw dust in a wooden bowl filled with water. "Look closely, Alpha," he instructed, pushing the bowl towards Ronnie.

Ronnie looked into the bowl for a long time. "Wow!" he exclaimed with fake amusement.

"Do you understand now?" The seer asked with an excited tone and his eyes almost popping out.

"Nah, all I see is dust on the water. John, speak in sense." Ronnie said in sarcasm.

John frowned. It was just simple logic, and it wasn't so hard to explain but this was the most he could do for him as the Alpha.

He couldn't speak much so as not to anger the moon goddess. "I have done the best I can. What you should remember is that he needs one beyond the woods," the seer stated briefly.

Ronnie got even more confused, "Beyond the woods? One? We are all here, John. What exactly do you mean?"

"The moon goddess is ready to watch a romance adventure, why ruin it with your persistence, Alpha? All you need to know is that Krisen needs the one beyond the woods to become Lycan, he was never destined for Alpha." The seer began to laugh in his cringing tone again.

Ronnie furrowed his brows deeply, trying to make sense of what he just heard. "But the last Lycan lived centuries ago. That is if the stories were even real," he scoffed.

"He once lived, did he not?" The seer looked at him with interest in his eyes.

"Go now, Alpha, and live with the knowledge you just discovered." He stretched out an amused smirk as his eyes remained on Ronnie, giving him the creeps underneath his skin.

Ronnie shook his head as he stood up. Anytime he came here, he always left in confusion.

"Remember the double sided mirror, Alpha," the seer added, but that just joined to Ronnie's confusion.

"Dad." Krisen called when he saw his father come out of the den. His face looked displeased as he stared at his father.

Ronnie was taken aback by the sudden call, "Krisen, why are you here?" He was expecting to see David instead.

"I heard you went to visit the seer so I came to wait for you." Krisen responded. "What's new?"

"You won't be having a Ceremony." Ronnie dished it out like he was just saying normal speeches.

"What?" Krisen certainly did not see the statement as a mere speech, it was certainly a big deal to him.

He had trained all his 16 lunar moons for this ceremony and seeing his father's unaffected emotion as he delivered the news angered him.

"Be patient, there is still time." Ronnie patted his son's shoulder as he walked past, leaving him to his own thoughts.

If there was one thing Ronnie understood from all the seer said, it was that he should keep the news from Krisen, although the double mirror still bothered him.

What kind of mirror is that?

Krisen’s eyes turned cold as he watched his father walk past him. "Is it because I have no mate yet?" he asked as his hands clenched into a fist.

Ronnie paused in his steps. "To be an Alpha you don't need a mate…" 'but you need a mate to be a Lycan,’ he completed the last words in his head.

"So, you just tell me that I won't be having a crowning ceremony and that's it? No explanations? No reasons?" Krisen found it ridiculous.

The whole thing was not adding up, and he sensed something was amiss especially since his father had anticipated the ceremony ever since.

Ronnie suddenly felt tired of the back and forth. "I am the Alpha and what I say stands. You have to be patient." He stated with unwavering authority, but such a tone didn’t work on his son.

He trained Krisen well. Too well if he must boast.

Krisen scoffed, "Is that what you will tell the people when they ask you for a reason? How laughable." He ridiculed and turned around, walking away the opposite direction towards the sea.

Ronnie sighed out and left as well. He really had to do something about his reasons, situations like this might stir up internal battles.

If you make me call your name one more time, don't blame me for barging into your home recklessly." Suban hurriedly explained, he did not want his father to think he was responsible for Dimitri’s sudden collapse."Bring her up to the bed, quickly!" David ordered."Get the needles (acupuncture needles)" David told him when he laid Dimitri back on the bed.Suban was uncertain, "I think we should call the healers; she could not just fall without reason... she might be really sick." He suggested. His father wasn't a healer, so he did not understand what he wanted to do."Did you forget what I said to you so soon?" David scolded him in disapproval, he looked at him again dead in the eye."No one is to know of her... she will not remain hidden, but when the time is

"Speak, boy!" He snapped."I ... I don't know Leader." Festus decided to answer like that besides he didn't lie, he really did not know where Dimitri’s tree bed landed.Moko looked at him with disgust, after wasting his time the boy did not even give a reasonable response.
