(Serena's POV)

In the afternoon, I woke up without Marcus at my side. He must have returned to work, it seems there is something urgent coming at his company. His phone keeps ringing since yesterday but he keeps ignoring it.

Yes, I give in.

I can't help but smile from ear to ear every time I remember the beautiful moments we created last night and this morning. I am happy and euphoric as if I'm floating on a cloud nine with butterflies in my stomach.

But questions keep rummaging in my head.

Will it gonna be alright? What will happen if he found out about my illness? Will he kick me out again because I'm a burden to him?

Everything is just so sudden. My feelings for Marcus cannot be hidden anymore. He found out about my depression. He found out about me being harassed. Yes, I was not raped but the feeling of being locked in a room, without food or water, beaten up like I was a punching bag, was the worst-case scenario.

It feels like my life has almost ended.
