Chapter Forty-Six
My hair falls in a straight waterfall down my back.
It's times like this that I love my hair. Even after straightening every single last curl and wave my hair still looks full and thick.
For my make up, I apply a thin coat of light foundation then fill in my eyebrows and line my eyes. I moisten my lips but decided to wait before applying any lipstick or eyeshadow until I've chosen a dress.
I'm in my bathrobe when I step out a moment later. Surprisingly my room isn't half as messy as I thought it would be in.

I don't know how but I find myself in my bedroom upstairs. What just happened? I've never imagined I would make Niko so upset with me and over something so little. And he is upset. I sit in the limo, looking out the window and seeing people exit the door dragging suitcases and carry-ons. Some of them even had airplane pillows hanging from their neck. I resist the urge to roll my eyes at them. Michael wouldn’t let me wait outside the vehicle. My cousin should be coming around any moment now… I do yet again another count down. Five, four, three, two, one… The next to exit is a trio of young girls, maybe a few years older than me. they look happy, is it their first time in New York?
