"Morning Mother!"
"Lola? Is that you?" I hear her voice break through the speaker.
"Mama? Are you crying? What's wrong? Did you and Papa fight again? Are-are you hurt?" I whispered the last part.
"No baby. Not that. I was just so worried about you. Why didn't you call me sooner? Your father forbids be from reaching out" she sniffles.
"Am sorry, I've being a little busy erm.. Settling in."
"Are you sure? Are you alright?" I could hear the worry in her voice.
"Yes mama. But Are you?"
"Don't worry about me baby. Your husband, is he treating you well?" the last part was a whisper.
How to answer that? I'm not certain I understand her question.
