Chapter Fourteen

Adriel looked at the time on his watch, it was 9:20 am. He sighed and glanced up at the door to his face. What was wrong? It was already 9:20 am and Miss Garcia had not yet arrived. She had not come in to give him his coffee or a run down of his schedule for the day.

'Maybe she's just running late', Adriel told himself and bent his head over his work again.

15 minutes later, Adriel glanced at his watch again, it was now 9:45 am and Miss Garcia had still not come in. If she was running late then she was really running late now and Adriel found this strange. In all the years they had been working together, Miss Garcia had rarely been late, punctuality was her strong suit.

She was always on time so what was happening today? Adriel began to feel a sneaking suspicion that it was because of what happened but that didn't make any sense either. Why would she come in to work yesterday but didn't come in today?
