Aurora

It was a day before my wedding, and instead of being excited, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to go horribly wrong.

I’d been trying to ignore it for days.

Every bride got nervous before her wedding, right?

That was what I kept telling myself whenever the unease crept in. But the closer tomorrow got, the harder it became to convince myself it was only nerves.

There was this feeling sitting in my chest, heavy and persistent, whispering that something would go wrong.

And lately, every little problem seemed determined to prove it right.

Which was exactly why I was standing in the middle of a designer wedding dress store, trying not to panic over the word “tear.”

“I thought it didn’t need adjustments anymore?” I asked the designer, Laura, glancing back at her.

She was crouched down behind me, a pin in her mouth as she held parts of the dress together.

She took it out before responding. “It doesn’t. There’s just a little tear, not noticeable, but I’ll get it fixed in no time.”

My heart thudded.

The last thing I needed was another problem, no matter how small.

I was about to ask why there was even a tear in the first place when the doors opened and Sierra walked in.

“Jesus, babe,” she breathed as she took me in. “You look breathtaking.”

My face flushed and I turned to her, grinning. “You think?”

“I think?” she asked incredulously. “I know, babe. Asher’s not gonna be able to take his eyes off you tomorrow.”

“That’s kinda what I’m aiming for. We don’t want him marrying the wrong woman,” I replied with a laugh, but something like unease swirled in my stomach.

She laughed alongside and was about to say something when Laura cut in. “You can take off the dress now.”

I promptly took it off with her assistance and handed it back to her before slipping back into the light blue sundress I’d worn there.

“Can you get it fixed before we leave?”

“Yeah. It won’t take much time,” she said, already moving toward the back, “make yourselves comfortable while I get to work.”

Sierra and I moved toward one of the sofas in the corner, and I pulled out a fashion magazine from a basket on the way.

The moment my butt made contact with the soft cushions, a satisfied sigh left me.

The last time I’d sat down was probably on the way here two hours ago, and legs were sore as hell.

“Did we really need a wedding? We could’ve just run off to Vegas and gotten married there instead.”

Sierra side-eyed me. “If you’re this tired already, just imagine what tomorrow’s going to look like.”

I groaned.

“Don’t remind me. I—”

I paused as movement on the television screen before us caught my eye.

A news channel was being broadcast, and something about the scene on the television snagged my attention.

A man was surrounded by reporters, and from the angle, I couldn’t see his face, but judging by the activity around him, he had to be important.

Something landed on my lap, and I looked down to see a remote.

“Since you’re suddenly so interested in what’s happening, you might as well hear it.”

I flashed her an appreciative smile as I took the remote and turned up the volume.

“—caught in yet another scandal as his most recent girlfriend was found drugged and naked outside a hotel room registered under his name.”

I hadn’t heard the beginning, but obviously it was something big.

Drugged in his room?

I didn’t know him, but that was a very sick thing to do.

“Mr. Wolfe,” another reporter’s voice stood out. “Do you have anything to say regarding the allegations?”

The surname rang a bell, but I pushed it aside, leaning forward to see more.

The camera finally panned to the man’s face, and I felt the air being knocked out of my lungs.

Because staring at the camera like he could see me from where he was…

was my fiancé.

It had been three hours since we were brought to the prison, and I still couldn’t believe that, in less than two days, I’d ended up in a place I’d spent my whole life trying to avoid. And it was all because of the Wolfe brothers.I hadn’t been put in a cell. Instead, I’d been questioned because I was one of the last people who’d seen Soren before he escaped, even though more than a day had passed since then.Apparently, only Asher and I had come to see him, and they suspected us of being accomplices in his escape, which I found very laughable because I didn’t even like the man.Asher, on the other hand, was placed in a cell. Even though I felt bad for him, he deserved some kind of retribution for deceiving me and then attempting to lie when I found out.“Ma’am, you’re free to go now. Your husband will have to remain in our custody until bail is posted for him,” the officer who’d arrested us said, and my eyes snapped open. I hadn’t even realized I’d fallen asleep.“Is your friend on h

Aurora’s POV“Asher,” I looked between the two of them, only able to tell the difference between them because one was almost naked, and judging by what I thought I’d just heard, he was—Oh my God. I couldn’t even bring myself to put the thought together.I stepped further into the room, refusing to believe what I’d first heard.“What did you just say?”The one who was fully clothed in what I’d just realized was a copy of the outfit the other had worn during the wedding, stepped toward me, his hand reaching out to touch me.“Ror, I can explain.”I stepped back before his hand made contact with my skin.“Don’t,” I told him. “Don’t touch me, Asher. Explain everything I just heard, but don’t try to put your hands on me.”It was a miracle I was even able to look at him at that point.I was disgusted with him. With them. I was disgusted in myself for not being able to recognize the man whom I thought I was marrying.“Aurora.” He tried to touch me again, and the glare I gave him made him t

SorenAs soon as I stepped into the room, Asher’s fiancée — or should I say, my wife, stood from the bed and approached me. I was about to open my mouth to stop her when I noticed what she was wearing, and my words died in my throat.A lingerie. A fucking red, lacy lingerie. And it showed everything. Her abdomen, tits, her perky pink nipples… shit, even her cunt was barely covered by that thing she had on. Utterly fucked. That was what I was.I scrubbed a hand over my face, my eyes taking her in again on their own accord, feeling like a creep which I probably was at that point. I hated to admit it, but my brother’s fiancé was sexy as hell.My cock was already hard just from the sight of her, and that was something that never happened, especially not from someone like her… someone who wasn’t the type of woman I went for. I was ashamed of myself.I forced myself to look away, counting freaking sheep going over a fence in my head just to get my damn boner to calm down. When it finally

AuroraHe was late. Five times. I called him five times this morning to remind him —obviously a waste of time — that the wedding was still on, but he still chose to be thirty minutes late. Sierra came to my side, and the next second, my phone was swiped out of my hand. “Rory, you’ve called him so many times already. He isn’t magically going to pick up now,” she said softly. “How about you take a seat while we wait, so you won’t be too tired to stand when he finally arrives?”My eyes shifted to the hall’s entrance. “But it’s been thirty minutes already. Why isn’t he here?”“I don’t know. But he’ll be here soon, I promise.”How could she promise that when everyone had already called him more times than I could count, and he still didn’t pick?A scary thought crossed my mind. Oh my god. What if he ditched me?My eyes darted to the entrance again, wishing the doors were going to burst open by him. But there was no chance of that happening, so I let Sierra guide me by the elbow to a ben

Soren’s POV I barely tried to hide my smirk as my brother’s supposed fiancée’s eyes widened. She looked like she’d seen a ghost. Which, if I was being honest, was a huge blow to my ego. I couldn’t blame her for her shock, though. My brother had always kept my existence like his dirty little secret. I’d never seen someone as ashamed of their reflection as he was of me. “T-twin?” she stuttered. My smirk widened. “Don’t tell me you didn’t tell your little fiancée about my existence now, brother.” His eyes narrowed at me. “Soren…” I looked back at his fiancée. I had to say, he’d always had a type. Dark, curly hair, hazel eyes that looked green under the right lighting, short but not too short… that kind of stuff. I cocked my head. There was something different about this one, though. Something that almost made me believe he wouldn’t ditch her. Almost. “You have a twin?” she asked, looking at me while directing the question to my brother. “Babe…” “You have a twin and you di

Wolfe.I should’ve known. I should’ve guessed the moment the name was mentioned, and from his physique. My fiancé was cheating on me. And not only that, he might’ve assaulted or possibly taken advantage of the woman.Oh my God.I blanched as bile rose in my throat. My throat felt tight, and tears stung my eyes, blurring my vision.I tried to breathe… to speak, but words felt impossible.Arms wrapped around my shoulders immediately.“It’s okay. You’re okay.”Hearing Sierra’s voice did little to calm me down.“A-air,” I croaked, urging myself forward. “I need air.”“Oh, baby. I’ve got you.”She stood immediately, coming to my side as she helped me up, managing as quickly as she could to get me out of the store.Once we were outside, I took a large, gulping breath. Then another. Then another. It took several minutes for me to regain myself.Asher would never do that to me… to anyone, I told myself. He was too pure at heart to ever do something like that. I knew it. But then there was the
