The Exhibition Games were played in a huge, round, dusty amphitheater, lined with tiered seating, and currently occupied by a raucous, noisy crowd. The atmosphere inside reminded Akari a little of unruly soccer fans back home. Vendors prowled the aisles selling banners from the various battle teams, along with packaged food and bottles of alcoholic beverages. Loud music blared over the speakers and some werewolves were cheering on their teams and slapping down money on the bench seating as bets were lost and won all across the arena. Nicarr was bouncing with excitement as they made their way to the king’s box. Once they reached it, they would be completely enclosed in heavy, unbreakable glass, but it was the getting there that was the problem. Akari looked so small lying in the hospital bed that was designed to fit werewolves. Nikolai was sitting beside her bed, holding her hand and smoothing the hair from her face, thinking of how badly he wanted to spank her little ass when she woke up. He wouldn’t, of course, or at least he wouldn’t until she’d safely delivered the baby and recovered her health. Then she’d give her nightly spankings, no matter how prettily she begged him to stop. In fact, the idea of the spankings and her begging made Nikolai hard that it makes him uncomfortable sitting in the chair. Nikolai heard Akari sighed in her sleep and he immediately leaned over and gently kissed her still pale face. Even though the doctors had assured Nikolai that both Akari and the baby were fine, he can't stop worrying.. That fall had been a shock to Akari's system, that the doctor actually had given her a mild sedative just to calm her down, which was why she was still sleeping. Nikolai moved back to hover over Akari's wet hole where he traced delicate circles with his tongue. His tongue darted out to lick at Akari's sweet juices then softly mumbled. “Settle down now. You shouldn’t be getting yourself so excited. It’s not good for the baby.” His hands held Akari in place, exactly where he wanted her, and he slanted Akarina stern look. “Now be good and tell me you understand.” He opened his mouth and a long tongue slipped inside her wet hole. “Tell me.” Akari moaned and shook her head wildly, and Nikolai grinned down at her. "Such a stubborn woman.” He lift a hand and thrust a finger inside her and crooked it to find her sweet button. Akari screamed again and surged first toward him and then away, unable to decide what to do, where to go. Nikolai pushed in another finger and plundered around to join the first. Much later, Akari was doodling on a pad of paper by her bed while Nikolai dozed beside her. She poked Nikolai in the side and held out the paper to him. “I like this name,” she said, pointing at the name she’d written. “Nicole. It’s so much like Nikolai, and since it’s also my middle name, I was thinking…” she looked up at her husband and smiled. “It will represent me some too. What do you think?” “Yes, it’s good. But I don’t like the way you spelled it. We’ll spell it N-i-k-o-l. Akari scooted back against Nikolai as she spooned him. The hard, steely planes of his body felt so much warmer than any human’s. It was always surprising to Akari and felt wonderful in the middle of the night in this cold palace.The weather at the Kingdom was considered fairly cold year round by human standards. And a Werewolf had warmer body temperatures, a characteristic that may have evolved due to the colder climate, so that's why Nikolai didn’t always understand how chilly Akari found the palace to be and often complained about how warm he kept their room. Since Akari had first heard of them, she had been fascinated by the concept of the Exhibition Games. They were a popular, once quite bloodthirsty sport that took place in the national arena, though now, prisoners were no longer executed in this way, and it was rare that a serious injury ever even occurred. Akari knew Nikolai loved nothing better than to fight in the Exhibition games, held every Eightday, which was a non-work day for most on their cities, and sometimes Akari went with him to cheer him on from her seat in the king’s box. Akari liked to watch the matches, but after a while she found it boring to simply look on, and more and more the idea grew in her mind that she wanted to be out on the field herself. Now she’d come up with this great idea for the humans to form their own team and Nikolai had immediately shot it down. In one of the towers of the king’s vast palace, the man formerly known as Staff Sergeant Keanna Neely pulled one of the fur blankets more closely around her shoulders and snuggled down into the bed, trying to stay warm. She wished for Haggoz’s warmth behind her, but Haggoz had left before it got light.
