I sucked in deep air hearing them utter that word as they jumped on him and he cut them safely like always.

My gaze shifted to my son, Ashton.

He looked so different from him and everybody else.

I thought I had escaped seeing Ethan’s face, but then life happened to me as always because I birthed an exact replica of him.

While my daughter Ashley, at least she carried my other features and just his hair.

And then, finally I looked at the beautiful man who held my kids like they were part of him so lovingly in his arms—Killian Thompson.

For the first time in a long while, I let my mind drift back to what happened that day.

After Killian had rescued me from the fire, he brought me to the hospital.

I thought I was dead, but it seemed God finally showed mercy on me, because my eyes opened to the bright hospital lights of the hospital ward.

My child…I had been right, I failed my baby.

I did have a miscarriage in the car.

I vowed, and I meant every word I said.Every single one of them.I laid back, accepting my fate, as my hands moved to my belly one last time.“I’m so sorry, my angel,” I muttered weakly. There was no need to pretend anymore, we were going to die.It was too late anyway. My vision turned hazy, blood loss finally getting to me.And right before I closed my eyes, I heard a masculine voice call out.“Hello, is someone inside,” he shouted through the smoke and broken glass.I could see his dark coat and huge body build. And the moment he sighted me, he cursed.“Oh shit!”Without thinking, I watched as his hands jammed against the broken glass window.Pieces of glass sprayed everywhere along with his blood but he seemed like he barely cared. His hands moved down, unlocking the door as he rushed towards my side.“Please…save my child,” those were the only words I could manage as I was being sucked in slowly and deeply into an endless void.He nodded frantically, his hands moving to my seat

I took in a deep breath, knowing I could not die. Not now, and not so soon.My child…I have to protect my child at all costs. I lifted my trembling hands filled with bruises and blood towards the seat belt that held me still. My breathing came hard and rasped as pain roared around my entire body.My vision dimmed, but I’ll never let that stop me.The moment my hands touched the thick leather, I held it tight taking a deep breath.I knew I needed to hurry.I could already hear the slight explosion noises coming from the bonnet of the car—but I was doing the best I could.I swear—that was all I could do…that was how fast I could go.My fingers finally clasped on the hook and I pressed it down, dragging the leather up, but nothing moved.I dragged harder, but it barely shook.“No…no…no,” I mumbled in knowing exactly what this meant. The belt was jammed. And at that moment, I felt something warm and sticky trail down my legs and I froze.Tears clouded my vision as my body shook violent

My entire world paused the moment that familiar voice spoke. It was followed by the loud slapping of skin, along with a male grunt. My breathing came faster, and my hands trembled. This felt like deja vu all over again back to when Xavier cheated on me.But this time was different, because Ethan was my husband, not my boyfriend.I pushed the door open with a loud bang without thinking, not caring if it shook off its hinges. But then, I paused the moment my eyes took in the sight before me.A woman knelt bent with her ass raised in the air, as a large man stood behind, pounding into her.My breathing siezed when I caught sight of the man, and my legs grew weak. His face was turned away from me, and I could see was his back. His very familiar built back. One I’ve seen countless times I’ll recognize even in my sleep. The back of the man I’ve given everything to—my husband.“Ethan!” I gasped his name out weakly, surprised that I could even form words.I watched as his movement stopped imm

Her loud gasp echoed through the silent room filled with the sound of my harsh breathing. The tray of food she held clanged loudly between her fingers, but luckily—she was quick enough to stop its fall as she held it closer to her chest. Her wide brown eyes gazed at me in shock and fear as she shook her head stepping back slowly.“Madam…how…how can you ask that? It’s illegal, I’ll…”My sharp eyes twisted, looking up to her with nothing left to lose except my child.“I know the consequences of my request. But I have only one thing left to lose, and that's the baby growing in my womb right now.I don’t care what I have to do, but I’ll do it—regardless of the consequences,” I said sternly, almost feeling bad when I saw her flinch hard from my harsh words. But I was too numb to care.“But mada…”“Just help me this once. I swear, there are only two ways out of this, and you won’t be at fault for anything in both ways.I’ll make sure you don’t suffer anything from my actions.I’ll save yo

I parted my lips to say something. To defend myself, but I knew that it would be useless—so I stopped myself. I stood numbly, saying nothing and doing nothing while she dragged me out roughly. Cuffing my wrist tightly, she pushed me towards the unkept prisoner's bathroom while throwing an inmate uniform towards me which landed luckily on my cuffed hands. “Change! You have two seconds,” she sneered in disgust. I looked down to my bound hands and I raised them before me. “My wrists are cuffed. How…how can I…?” I stammered, but she snapped, cutting my words off. “Sort it out yourself. Anything higher than two seconds, I’ll make sure you face punishment,” she hissed irritatedly. My chest burnt at her outright disrespect knowing she was doing this on purpose, but I said nothing. I pushed the door open the only way I could and I stepped inside, but not before hearing her sneer. “Young madam of the Blackwood my foot,” She ended with a small laugh. I had no idea how long I took
