"You are late."

Those were the first words that came out from his mouth.

Alpha Xavier's eyes bored into mine as he said those words. He didn't look angry or disappointed. He looked rather calm and his tone was a bit more friendly than it had been the previous day.

Yet, I couldn't say a word in response. I was dying inside, and from the way my legs shook, I wondered why he had not asked me what the problem was.
