Chapter 42: TIRED

DeLorna was still dumbfounded by Jefferson's actions. She didn't know why he had flared up against the elders. Anyway, she liked the feeling of being protected by her mate.

She could hear the dead seriousness in his voice when he was talking to the elders and guessed he must mean all that he was saying and wasn't joking.

In truth, she was scared by the strange reaction of the elders and guessed Jefferson must have noticed her fears and thus became angry at the elders for making her afraid.

Well, who cares. She raised her head and looked at Jefferson who was looking at the sky.

"What's up there to look at?" DeLorna frowned.

Jefferson, who was drowned in his sea of thoughts, came back to his senses when he heard DeLorna's words.

Looking at DeLorna he smiled. "I was just out for a moment. Those elders didn't scare you right." He smiled.

"I wasn't too scared," DeLorna smiled.

"But at least you were scared. if it was another person I would have sent them to hell for scaring you," Jefferson
