Chapter 7: Brian Matthew's actions.

Max burst out laughing after hearing Adela say that frankly.

"I said I would help you no matter what. The support system doesn't make you happy, so I have to take action." Max said half-truly, half-jokingly: "The first important thing you need to do is to become Earl John William's right hand, you must become a girl with great influence in this family." Max suggested.

"For what? I thought it would be fine to just deal with Brian Matthew, prevent him from approaching William's house. Why do I have to be such a busy person?" Adela countered, crossing her arms over her chest. Resentful voice.

"Miss Adela, right now in Earl William's family you are just a pampered princess. In fact, your words have no weight, but the Earl is willing to hand over this family to you. Previous life, "Adela William" foolishly gave William's house to Brian Matthew. In this life, Miss Adela, you need to have the ability to control Brian. And the only way to have that control ability is only one. That is, you have to rely on William's house, on a father who loves his daughter so much." Max does not think like Adela, he analyzes and concludes for Adela to understand.

"..." Adela fell into deep thought, and after a moment she said, "I believe you. All right, tomorrow I'll propose to the Earl that I want to appear on the house's board of shareholders, William. Based on the talent "Adela William" knows, the family's disapproval might be as low as ten percent."

"Ten percent isn't enough to overthrow you, Adela. The remaining ninety percent will take you to the position of just one man and above everyone else. At that point, Brian Matthew will have to propose, too. ninety percent of your defense. But for revenge, he won't give up on usurping you as his. Be careful." Max is serious.

Adela heard Max speak, she suddenly remembered the scene where Brian boldly stated his purpose just now. He could easily say he wanted a woman just for the first time. That woman was also the daughter of the enemy. But he still had such a calm expression on his face. Adela admires his patience and this malicious plot. Brian Matthew is a dangerous subject. Adela knows. Therefore, she had to quickly suppress him.

"How long until Earl John William and Countess Zedi choose to die here?" Adela thought and asked.

"The most accurate notification system is in forty days." Max replied.

"Only forty days? Well, I'm curious about one thing." Adela crossed her arms over her chest, she said flatly, her face full of excitement rather than fear of the future.

"Curiosity? What?" Max is confused.

"Out of curiosity...he's going to do something to get rid of "Adela William". Is there something special about him that makes "Adela William" fall in love with him to death? I'm really looking forward to it. Will his jokes win me over?" Adela smiled triumphantly, she said with sparkling eyes.

Max was quiet, he didn't speak. Adela turned to leave in the direction of the noisy banquet in the Earl's castle. The night wind blew cold, and the girl's back slightly shivered. But I don't know if she was shivering from the cold or from the excitement of laughing.

(...)

After the dinner party and meeting Brian Matthew for the first time, Adela still acted as if nothing had happened. To begin to become a subject of control over Brian, Adela today has the support of the William family - Adela becomes the family's third-largest shareholder behind only Earl John William and Lady Zedi. These two parents were extremely supportive of their little princess. Adela did not miss this precious opportunity.

The news that the little princess of the William family officially embarked on running the Earl family quickly appeared in the press. Adela's image went viral at breakneck speed. Some people speculate that today, Adela William will surely soon become a new Countess to inherit the estate of the William family. What man is lucky enough to marry that princess, Adela William. That means that person will become the boss of the land of Setrie.

Adela sat cross-legged on the sofa made of pure white fleece, her legs swinging to the rhythm of relaxing Jazz music. She held a newspaper in her hand, reading the horizontal and vertical titles in the newspaper, Adela suddenly burst out laughing very happily. After reading, she threw the newspaper on the coffee table and raised her head to relax.

"Max, the status of William's little princess has changed today. My importance in Brian's eyes has increased. He will act soon and we will soon have his font. In forty days I'll show Brian who is the master of this game!" Adela happily spoke into the air. She knew that Max was always around to hear what she said, to see what she did. That's why she happily said this.

"It's not enough to hold his heart. Adela, you need to find the woman he loves and win her heart at all costs. That way, this world counts as a mission successful." Max overheard Adela speak for a moment. Yet he is not praising Adela at all, on the contrary, he is reminding Adela of the difficult task ahead.

"I have a question." Adela listens to Max's reminder. Max put her off, but she wasn't angry at all. She took a sip of tea and said.

"What's the problem?" Max replied.

"If I really rip out that girl's heart, will I have to go to jail for murder? Like...just go to jail to pay for it to get out of this world?" Adela put the cup of tea in her hand on the table and asked.

When Max heard Adela's words, he laughed loudly. Crisp laughter echoed through the air that only Adela could hear. She grimaced as she waited for Max to answer.

"That girl's beating heart is actually something else. Adela, what do you think that girl's still-beating heart might be?" Max held back his laughter and honestly answered Adela.

"Another idea? I thought her still-beating heart was the one in her left breast. Well, makes me think I have to kill people and pay for what I've done in this world. That's it. A speaker likes me. Killing someone is out of the question." Adela was a half-truth, half-joking.

Max laughed again. Adela ignored his mocking laugh.

Right now, the phone on the bed rang the waiting ring of a call. Adela got up and walked over to the bed, grabbed her phone, and watched the unfamiliar numbers pop up on the screen. She smiled softly, shaking the phone in the air: "Max, somehow what I say always comes true."

"I'm looking forward to your remaining thirty-nine days of duty, Adela." Max spoke in a deep voice, it was like the way a pampered man would speak to his girl.

Answering the phone, Adela immediately adjusted her voice and voice silently. Soft and gentle: "It's Adela."

Inside the phone quickly came the familiar voice of a man: "Hello, Miss Adela William, I'm Brian."

"Oh! It's Sir Viscount Brian Matthew, is it important that you called Adela today?" Adela answered slowly.

"It's nothing important. I just want to fulfill my promise to Miss Adela. Would you mind joining me for dinner?" Brian said calmly. His raspy laugh carried a seductive scent.

"Is this the Viscount's promise?" Adela smiled discreetly and deliberately asked in a bewildered voice.

"Promise me that I'll use my time to prove to Miss Adela that you and I won't be friends forever." Brian slyly replied.

Won't be friends forever? If not you, what do you do? Being a lover!

That's exactly what he meant. Adela knew, but she had other ideas in her mind. Well, if you're not a friend forever, you'll probably be a stranger. Drill! Since when did Adela and Brian become friends? This Brian Matthew really knows how to use words to promote close relationships.

Adela groaned in her mind.

"Looks like my memory hasn't been that good, sorry Brian." Adela said in a regretful tone.

"For someone as busy as Miss Adela William, a promise from someone like me doesn't matter, right? Adela doesn't need to remember, Brian remembers. Then I invite you to dinner...." Brian's stammering words, Adela heard and understood.

"Ah! Of course, of course I'll have dinner with the Viscount as an apology!" Adela immediately smiled back.

"Thank you, Miss Adela, for accepting my sudden invitation. So, I'll pick you up tonight after afternoon tea, okay?" Brian laughed and said.

"Okay, I'll wait for you."

The voice call ended, and Adela quirked the corner of her lips into a faint smile. She threw the phone on the bed, she also lay down, covered the blanket, and went to bed with an excited smile on her lips.
