06. TOUGH DECISION.

Jane got back into the hospital and sat on the bench provided on the hallway. She tore the envelope open and brought out the single file in it. The file contained the contract and nothing more than that.

' Didn't he say everything I needed to know is in this envelope? This just contains only the man's name, his age, his field of study yet no picture. Oh, there are a few hobbies of his here. ' She thought inwardly.

' Name: Ryan Allen.

Age: 30 years.

Field of Study: Business Major. '

Was this the man she was to sign a contract with? She looked below the paper and saw the already written signature and validity of the contract.

" Just two years? Not that long. ' She felt a little bit lifted but then she came down again.

Getting married to a stranger wasn't her choice or plan. Jane was more or less the fairy tale type who believed in true love. A charming prince who would one day come to her and ask her hand in marriage even take her away to the fairy home just like Cinderella but now…now, all these dreams and hopes of hers were about to shatter because they were castles built in the sky. Right now, she was going to sign away her life, dreams and hopes to a man she had never met before.

" I will have to do this for Bruno's sake. " She picked up the pen, felt reluctant for a few minutes before signing off her life to something she believed to be a bondage for two years.

**********

A Royce Rolls drove into a big company and parked in front of the main building. The staff immediately got the alert of the arrival of their boss and arranged themselves in a straight line with their heads bowed as a sign of respect.

Bert opened the door for his boss and the mighty Allen came out with his confident manner. He strolled in with his men behind him.

" Good morning, sir. " They greeted and Allen stopped walking. He glanced at every one of them with his cold face before walking away.

" Get back to work. " Kyle ordered and they all scurried away.

The staff knew how things worked, the boss would arrive in the morning with his poker face and not regard their greetings. He would go through their works and if he found any error, the person who made it was sacked. Despite the harsh treatment, none of them was willing to let go of the job because it had a good pay that was enough to build an apartment. The security system in the company and at home were handled by his men, Kyle, Xander, and Bert, known as the youngest of all. No one knew how they were related to the boss.

Allen entered his office which was more like an apartment. This was because it was the biggest office in the company. It had a master bedroom, a kitchen and a secret room which led to various offices in the company that the staff were not aware of except Kyle and the brotherhood.

He sat on the chair and rotated it before facing his men.

" What are you two still doing here? " He asked. Bert looked at Xander first before gazing back at his boss. He smiled voluntarily and Allen furrowed his brows. He knew that Bert was always up to one mischievousness or the other so he wasn't surprised if he created any damage in the way. Xander would cover up for him. They were partners in crime…well, Bert being the leader of it all.

" Why are you smiling? " He asked.

" I am so happy for you, boss. " Bert cheered, he was clapping his hands like a little child. Allen stared at him blankly.

" Mr. Paul informed me that he has found a wife for you. Happy Married Life. " He squealed.

Xander almost spat on his friend, how could he have delivered the news that way?

Kyle's eyes darted towards Allen and he chuckled when he saw his Friend's eyes turned grim.

Allen was being pestered day and night by his grandmother to get married, he was given a deadline. If he could not bring any woman home as the person he was dating then he would have to give his signature on a contract then get married to whosoever his granny would choose for him.

For years, Allen had already forgotten about it until recently, when everything just seemed to have bursts out of its hiding.

Allen was less bothered about that and gave his granny his signature nonchalantly.

" You can leave. " Allen ordered and the two men left except Kyle who made himself comfortable on the Sofa and stared at his friend who was now getting ready to bury himself in his work.

" You are not going to say anything? " Kyle asked and Allen looked up from his desk.

" What do you expect me to say? " He retorted.

" So, you are just going to sit down and watch events unfold? You are going to get a woman living with you…with us. "

" She is my grandma, I am not expected to go against her now, am I? " Allen asked.

" Of course not. "

There was silence but Allen knew that it wasn't over yet.

"Are you going to allow a woman to live with us? "

" Is that a crime? "

Kyle chuckled and waved it off with his hand, " Of course not, you of all people know that it is surely not a crime nor a problem. " He said with an intended meaning underneath his words while Allen focused back on his work.

Truly, he understood what Kyle was trying to say but right now…at this point, he could not afford to offend the Matriarch. He had no choice but to accept but he prayed that this choice wouldn't be the end of it all.
