"Hi, you're Selena Formosus, right?" a girl asked when she approached me. I put down my coffee and nodded at her. She gave me a medium-sized green card.

"I'm the secretary of Mr. Klein. He wanted to give this to you. I'll go ahead now," she walked away and I peeked at the card that she gave me.

I was about to open the card when my phone rang. It displayed Mr. Jaxon's name.

"Yes sir?"

[Where are you now?]

"I'm at the cafeteria, why?"

[Come here to my office, I want you to do something.]

After saying what he needed to say, he immediately hung up the call. I fixed my things and walked to pantry to make him a coffee.

While I'm at the pantry, an employee stands next to me, preparing a cup of coffee. When she spoke, I was mixing the coffee.

"You know what? Ms. Maxine was much better secretary compared to you."

"How come I'm here if she's good?" I inquired as I added creamer to Mr. Jaxon's coffee.

"She's just being accused of something she didn't do!" she yelled as if I had said something hurtful to her.

While mixing the coffee, I turned to face her and smiled.

"It isn't my fault. I applied here solely to earn money for my living expenses," I said as I walked past her. She yelled something but my unbothered ears can't clearly understand because of the distance.

"How was your night with Haru?" Kassandra inquired as to the time we met in front of Haru's office. I could tell she was irritated by her tone, but I ignored it.

"Fun and hot," I simply replied as I continued my walk to Mr. Jaxon's office.

She pulled my arm, which caused the coffee I was holding to spill on her.

"Oh, my goodness! Take a look at what you've done!," she exclaimed as she looked down at her splashed clothes. Haru emerged from his office a few minutes later, and he approached us with a puzzled expression.

"What happened here? What happened to your cloth, Kass?"

"Selena splattered coffee on me!" She falsely accused me in order to gain Haru's sympathy. Haru looked at me, as if to ask if it was true.

"Do I have any reason to purposefully spill coffee on her?" I inquired of him. He yanked Kassandra away from me while shaking his head.

"Wait, you're not going to chastise her for what she did to me?" Kassandra asked, perplexed. Haru sighed, as if he was sick of her.

"You pulled her arms first, and it's entirely your fault," Haru explained. I'm curious how he knew if he was in his office at the time, but Mr. Jaxon is waiting for me.

As I walked into his office, he asked, "What took you so long?" I placed the empty tea cup in the middle of the table.

"I met two people who despise me to the point of death."

As he sat in front of me on the couch, his brow furrowed. He was about to take a sip of his coffee when he realized it was empty.

"Kassandra grabbed my cup-holding hand, and it splattered all over her dress," I explained before he said anything.

He sighed and set the cup down again. He handed me a brown folder with the Morelli logo on it.

"Can you tell me why there's a Morelli logo on the front?" Before I opened the folder, I inquired.

"Please ignore the logo; I simply recycled the folder. Regardless, those papers contain some board recommendations for our model's second advertisement. There's also a list of well-known people who we can persuade to promote our product, and I'd like you to contact them as soon as possible," While I was looking through the folders, he explained.

"I still can't believe you recycled your competitor's folder; what was the original document that was previously inserted here?" I inquired because I was curious if anyone would recycle his opponent's items.

"False accusation," he replied, as if his words had a deeper meaning. I just stared at him, waiting for him to say something else.

He walked over to his work table and shook his head. When he said something, I was about to walk away.

"If you want to ask the people who are on the list, start with Hailey Brown. She's a friendly person," I walked out to his office, nodding at him.

I sat in my chair and placed the folder on the table. I read through all of their suggestions for persuading the listed advertisers. A green card had fallen from my bag as I went to get my pen and notebook.

The card was given to me by Mr. Klein's secretary. Mr. Klein has invited me to dinner in two days, according to the note on the card.

"Dinner? For what purpose?" I just shrugged and continued to jot down all the pertinent information.

Only a few people on the list had responded to my email, and some were still pending. I only have one week to complete this.

Mr. Jaxon requested that I purchase a meal for him at a restaurant for his lunch, and Wade agreed to drive me there because he is also purchasing his own food.

"You seem to be very busy, is it for the launch of Devonix?" he inquired as he drove. I'm currently responding to all of the emails that have been sent to the company.

"Yes, and those who are wondering when we will launch the Devonix, since the Morelli has already launched their model," I replied as I typed on my phone.

After a long silence, he said, "You're a lot harderworking than Maxine." My brows furrowed as I typed slowly on my phone.

"Who is that Maxine who is being compared to me by almost all of the employees?"

"She was Jax's former secretary before you."

"Stop comparing us, for God's sake. It irritates me, and we're different people to begin with," I expressed my disappointment and walked out of the restaurant to purchase food.

"Ahm, one order of lasagna, a large burger, and a red velvet cake," I told the server as I checked my email.

"Is that everything, ma'am?"

"Yes, by the way, it's a takeout."

The server was about to leave when Wade appeared and abruptly stopped her to inform her of his orders.

He told the server, "Enchiladas and Lobster Mac and Cheese." I took a sip of my water and gazed out the window at Haxilla.

Because of the wall, I can't tell who she's talking to, but it appears that they had a serious conversation based on Haxilla's expression.

"Can you tell me what you're looking at?" Wade motioned for me to look where I'm staring, but I drew his attention away from lookibg at it right away.

"No, it's not a big deal. It's just a cat fighting another cat."

While waiting for the food, he nods at me and uses his phone.

"Yes, Mr. Jaxon?" When he called, I answered.

[Have you arrived at the restaurant already?]

"Yes, I'm with Wade actually now," When I mentioned Wade's name, he gave me a brief look.

[I see. I'll wait for you in the rooftop garden.]

Ms. Brown dialed my number exactly after he hung up the phone.

"Ms. Brown, good morning. Have you made up your mind about the email I sent?" I inquired, hoping for a positive response.

[You are being held by Jaxon Silvenia, right?]

"Yeah, but why?"

[All right, I'll put your model on the market. I just need to ask my manager and secretary to rearrange my schedule to accommodate it.]

"Oh my gosh, Ms. Brown, thank you so much," I exclaimed, my face beaming.

[Don't worry, I just called to say it. I have to get off the phone right now, bye.]

"Did she agree?" When I put down my phone, Wade inquired. I give him a big smile and a nod, but he just smirks back.

"What's the deal with that grin?"

"Hailey has had a crush on Jaxon since elementary school, so she can't say no."

While pouting and exchanging emails with the clients, I said, "Err, she had a bad taste." He let out a small laugh and rested his chin on his hand.

"Did you know Jaxon is torturing you behind your back?"

"Eh? What exactly do you mean?"

"Well, her former secretaries were just making him coffee, making appointments, and almost all of their work was done inside the company or office," he teased.

"What?! And I'm almost finished with fields, phone calls, and everything else. Wow, he really despises me?" Incredulous, I inquired.

So, yes, I regret applying for the position of his secretary.

"Field work in the company is supposed to be done by lower employees, which is why we were initially perplexed when he told the field workers that their job would be easier."

"Isn't it true that we're a technology firm? So, why is this a field worker's job? I mean talking to some clients, and so on."

He was leaning against the chair, his arms crossed, staring at me.

"That's exactly what they're doing, but now that their work has been transferred to you, they're concentrating on developing digital platforms to aid the other editors. Jax can done far worse and more difficult things than this," With a shrug of his shoulder, he said.

"Does he really want to kill me because I'm under too much stress?" Some customers tilted their heads as a result of my raised voice.

"Yes, most likely. He may be gentle with you in his words, but the work he will assign you is pretty difficult that you will wish to end up your life."

I'm tapping my foot on the table, planning my retaliation.

"Oh, well, never mind. He'll get tired of it soon, I'm sure," But I really want to punch Jaxon in the face right now, I said.

"You're completely unsure."

I couldn't help but sigh and roll my eyes at him. We place our order and then exit the restaurant. I went back to where Haxilla was standing earlier, but she had already left.

Mr. Jaxon called me again as I sat in the car.

[After putting the foods in the garden, you immediately go to the factory and inventory the parts.]

He didn't let me speak because he had already hung up the phone.

"I think you were right," I said out of nowhere. Wade gave me a quick puzzled look.

"What do you mean?"

"Mr. Jaxon wants me to inventory the parts at the factory," I said sloppily, as if it were the most difficult task on the planet.

"Ohh, you'll finish it in almost 4-5 hours, depending on if there's no lost part because you need to find it first before finishing the inventory," he explained while driving.

"What the hell did I do to him to deserve this?!" I said this while pouting and leaning against the car window.

"I'm not sure, but he does it sometimes just for fun."

"He must be having a good time right now."

We're driving silently to company, and I'm looking out the window at the pouring rain until Britanny calls me.

"Britanny."

[Hey, Kaley just sent us an invitation to their wedding as well as our wedding dress.]

"Really? That's great! When I get home, I'll double-check my dress."

[Haxilla inquires as to what time you will arrive home.]

"Perhaps I should take overtime at nine o'clock."

We said our goodbyes and hung up the phone, and I noticed Wade is uncomfortable and appears to want to tell me something.

"Are you all right, Wade?" I inquired. He cleared his throat and gripped the steering wheel tighter.

"Can you tell me the name of the girl you were talking to earlier?" That question he posed perplexed me a little.

"Britanny Prosais, why?"

I saw how he gulped and excitement shown on his face.

"Nothing, nice name by the way," he said, smirking and appearing to be daydreaming.

I shook my head and looked at the road, my eyes widening as I saw an elderly lady cross the road unexpectedly.

"Wade!" I exclaimed, causing Wade to break and almost hit the elderly lady.

I got out of the car and went to check on the old lady. I assisted her in standing, and Wade provided us with an umbrella.

"Are you all right?" When I asked her, she nodded and said, "Thank you."

When she saw Wade, she immediately walked backwards as if she saw a ghost and ran away, screaming, "Killer! Killer!"

"What actually happened?" I inquired as I observed the elderly lady escaping from us. He simply shrugged and we get back to the car.
