Chapter 9

It was a chilly evening. I had just returned from a tedious day at work, and Tanner made sure I had it rough today for standing up to her a few days ago. I swallowed everything she threw at me—hook, line, and sinker—without making a sound.

The last thing I want is to make things more difficult than they already are. I had plans to meet up with George later today. He is the new ugly dude I was matched with. We agreed to meet up at the restaurant; I didn't want him coming anywhere close to my house to avoid another incident with flower petals.

I had already set aside the dress to wear for the dinner but had to change it at the last minute because of the weather. I felt a bit bad that I had to cover up all this cleavage, but what to do?

I had to do a little finishing touches with my makeup and hair. I was at the mirror when I heard my phone ring. I picked it up, and it was George.

"Hello charm"

"Hi, you're not going to cancel on me, right?"

"No, I'm almost done."

"I don't want the rain
