Jayden’s mind refused to rest. His head was full. His chest felt tight. He paced around the room like someone chasing answers. The more he thought about Monalisa’s stuttering, the wedding ring, the separate bedrooms, the more something burned inside him.

He grabbed his phone with shaky fingers and dialed Tricia’s number. He did not even think twice.

On the other end, Tricia answered, her voice cheerful and oblivious to the storm brewing.

Tricia picked up her phone at her desk, not checking the caller ID.

"Yes, Tricia speaking."

Jayden’s voice came out deep and cold.

Jayden's tone was low and commanding, a stark contrast to Tricia's lightness

"Yes Tricia. You have five minutes to come meet me. I will send you the address."

There was a pause, a sharp intake of breath, and then Tricia's voice turned guarded.

Tricia frowned hard. She pushed her chair back.
