facing death

EREBUS POV.

"Are you insane?!" she blurts out at once, a frown on her face and a look of disgust throwing me into a sudden haze, "I don't know who you think you are young man, but you don't own people" she turns to face Thomas and immediately the look on her face dissolved Into a smile" I have a lot to do, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for taking me in and all, do you mind giving me your number?" she asks, shameless just like before.

Thomas turns to face me as if asking for permission,"I'm with him little miss, I can't really do that unless he gives me the orders" Thomas responds fondly, the light smile on her face disappears, her cheeks burns red from embarrassment, an emotion I thought she was incapable of, then it furrows down into a frown once more as she glances at me her eyes darting across the room before she grabs her luggage's and bolts out of the room.

"What was that about?" Thomas asks almost immediately,  he had seen the look on my face earlier, and I tilt my head slightly wondering about how it could have happened. 

"I'm not sure yet, id hate to make assumptions but she doesn't seem like an ordinary human, when she touched me I saw visions, myself… another version of me although I know not if it were a past life or some magic trick but she knows things and she is rather repulsive for a petty mundane" I answer curtly before staring at the door… just now does it hit me I hardly know a thing about her.

"she's new in town, I saw a bus ticket  by her side in the rain when I found her earlier, she should be easy to track" Thomas explains

My eyes trail off to the floor, some sort of drug had fallen from her bag, I walk closer to it before picking it up, I check the contents slightly before tossing it into the waste bin, on second thoughts I pick it back up before tucking it into my pockets with a grin on my face…

"I need news about her, don't mope around, I need it today" I order once more to Thomas who bows slightly as I walk out of the room.

I stand behind the door, my eyes narrowed down the corridor, I strain my ears but I can't pick up her footsteps, she really is one fast lady, then it strikes me again, she had no scent, she is human I can see that she would have gotten intimidated when I moved closer to her if she were a wolf but she had kept her composure… she didn't seem to be so bothered about waking up in a strange room either.

I feel curiosity cause an unsettling feeling at the pit of my belly, I tap my feet against the floor as I recall her face and the way she spoke, something about her had engraved into my mind, of course, she was pesky like all other humans as well but I had not seen a human act so foolish and lose around strangers, especially now she is around super naturals,  hopefully, she won't get herself into any more problem till I find her……..

TRIVIAS POV.

Curse words weren't really my thing but I could find myself doing nothing less since the minute I got out of the room, he seemed like the pretty wealthy type but it even made me hate him the more, 

His name sounded like royalty, his elegance, his stance, gestures and speech, they all fit perfectly into that of a high class but seeing how he looked down on me makes me hate him the more, 

I had sensed something when I touched him, a wave, it washed down on me, I had a vision again and for the first time I could recognize someone in it, the so called Erebus but he looked different, more quaint whatever it was I need to keep myself in check, I reach into my bag wanting to pop a pill but then I withdraw my hands again.

It would do me no good, I had just a few left and no longer did I have the source either, is better manage, the cab driver had not been helping either, he kept bickering on and on about the town and how it was new, perhaps I would be done with my work even sooner if everyone was a talk too much person like he is.

"Here we are," the driver says once more before highlighting from the car. He passed me my luggage as I highlighted after him, a frown on my face as I turned to check my new home…

Everything about this town is just as strange, I had expected a terrible home, eaten up by insects, dirty streets, rats and frogs around, I mean it to me is  the exact perfect place when I googled it up but walking out of the hotel had given me another impression energy, from the very moment I set foot out of the room I had seen nothing but modern things, the hotels weren't the elegant twenty floor, it had just right floor and yet it stood out for its beauty,

The street had lights, the roads were starred and not dusty, the woods were tamed, they had ornamental trees in the street, it was just perfect, and here I am facing my new home a beauty in all manners, it had a patio, a porch a mini garden to it and very short of a fence,

"How can you afford all these? I mean isn't this town supposed to be a trenches?" I ask, my words coming out the way it sounded in my head.

"the mayor, he's young, wealthy and smart but his manners are the worst, he's scary though but he is one successful young man, I had come into town three years ago thinking the same thing too however it's just nothing different from magical, I hope you enjoy your stay here " he answers and I smile at him before he drives off once again, for some reason I had pictured proud Erebus as the mayo, everything in the description fits into his personality perfectly but what are the chances.

I wake up, yawning lazily, I check for the time only to see that I had slept for four straight hours and it was beginning to get dark out, hastily I take a quick bath before putting on my track pants and a casual top, I set to my feet nwanting to take a jog around, I take a glance at every other house from the window, far away from me a little but then again I was surrounded mostly by woods.

I set to my feet running as fast as I could not stop for a bit, my mind fixed on the young man I had seen today, unlike his friend he had every elegant manner a lady would love in a man.

I stop in my tracks after getting lost in thought, I look around. I had taken my excitement way too much , I have no control over my body and it seems to have run into the woods all on its own accord. but no one seems to be about either, I get hit by a wave of pain and fear, and my whole body begins to burn like I had been set on fire,

I clutch at my heart before wincing in pain, A throbbing headache follows suit as my sight becomes blurry once again, the pills are wearing off and soon enough I'll be a mess, I make a resolution to find my way back before it becomes late at night.

I hear a twig break slightly, I stop, frozen in place as I turn to look fear gripped that it would be the same person who had almost kidnapped me the previous night… I turn to check knowing it would be the end of me, my eyes are fixed on it, I feel my blood level spike as my throat runs dry, my heart hammers hard against my chest in an insane manner, slowly I raise my palms over to my lips, trying to muffle my breath.

It doesn't move for a few seconds, A huge grey wolf, dangerously staring  at me, at this point I curse at my fate as slowly  it approaches me, it sniffs into the air before letting out a feral growl… I feel my legs go weak as I remain rooted to the  spot numb and, sweating profusely,

I take slow steps backwards but it seemed to be having fun watching its prey scared to death,  it's canines elongate and it snarls at me before leaping into the air,  it' lands claws on me, ripping me from my upper right shoulder , before falling to the floor as it pins me down, it stares at me for couple of seconds as hold my breath, my eyes starting directly into his.
