ACCIDENT

Gerald's eyes fluttered open as the dim morning light streamed through the curtains casting a soft glow in the living room. Confusion instantly washed over him as he realized he was sprawled on the couch instead of his usual spot in the bedroom. He sat up abruptly, his heart pounding in his chest and called out Hazel's name. Silence enveloped the room amplifying his growing anxiety.

"Hazel, where are you? Why couldn't you wake me up when you came in?" He said.
