CHAPTER 115

RUBY’S POV

When I got to Miss Garnet’s place according to the address she gave me, I took a moment to compose myself before I pressed the doorbell the first time but there was no response. So I pressed again and waited a moment while holding onto Sally’s hand. Soon, I heard shuffling of feet from behind the door.

I heard her open her peephole first and I smiled. Then she opened her door with a smile on her face too and we both hugged each other before she noticed Sally who was still beside me and not saying a word.

“I’m so glad you could make it, Ruby. At a point, I wondered if you would call and tell me you can’t come again. I’ve been watching you and I just felt like you were the kind of person who opted out of plans at the last minute because your anxiety and fear got the best of you” she told me and I chuckled quietly because she was right.

Over the few days that came before the weekend, I pondered about her invitation to come over and talk at her house and I wondered
