Chapter 7

The Stone house was practically what it implied, solid, firm and like some stones, it was pretty but the architecture and the story behind it wasn’t lost on Damien. He stirred his car into the driveway of the house and when he was sure the parking style would not interrupt anybody else that came in and it would be easy for them to drive out when it was time, he stopped the car.

He stayed behind the wheels for a few seconds before he climbed out and slammed the door behind him. Damien took careful steps and headed towards the main door, he was trying to blanch his head, he wasn’t a man to think too much of things.

Usually, he didn’t care enough to go on second dates with any woman, he didn’t care enough to even go pick her up from her home and somehow he was doing it with this prodigal daughter of the Stone.

He pressed the button and a few seconds later, it was opened. A grumpy face butler stood on the other side and he stepped aside. “Welcome Mr Blackwell, you can come into

The music changed again, shifting from waltz to something softer and slower. It was the kind of song that wrapped around everyone and made the air seem free, and the lights seem gentler. Serena felt free like this, felt all her anger and all her worries dissolve away like this. She wasn't sure if it was the music or the movement, or the man, but something about everything made her chest loosen. Damien hadn't said anything when he lead her away from that incel Adrian, hadn't asked questions, hadn't shown illogical jealousy. Instead he simply stole her away from the rest of the room, a warm smile on his face as he lead her to the dance floor. "You look beautiful..." He said for what would be the fourth or fifth time since he'd picked her up.She bit her lip, trying to hide her smile, but she failed miserably, unable to contain herself. "You don't look so bad yourself Mr Blackwell." She teased. He leaned in a little, lowering his voice. "I'll pretend you just called me the most hands

Adrian was still rigid, chest tightening until it felt like he might snap. The room felt different now, like the air was too thin and time seemed to move painfully slower. Every head was still in awe as Serena walked in, with Damien next to her. They had stolen the spotlight, hogging all the attention for themselves. He couldn't breathe clearly, he couldn't move.He didn't know they would be coming here. I mean, he'd known Damien would come but he didn't know that Damien would be her bringing with him. For a moment, he thought he must be imagining things. After all, while the engagement had been announced, he'd expected it to just be some kind of PR stunt, a ploy Damien had come up with to make him look stupid. It has been weeks since he ended their relationship, weeks since he shut her down, weeks since she returned to her family. Weeks since she had stopped being someone he thought about. But ever since the announcement, he couldn't lie he hadn't thought about her. He thought o

Adrian walked into the grand hall, past the tall oak doors that led into the inside of of the ballroom. The perfumed air and glassy, golden chandelier lights hit him with its warm and inviting glow. But somehow the lights didn't seem welcoming, it irritated his eyes and the knot in his stomach tightened. He was already regretting coming here. He didn't know why he let Cassandra change his mind. He had told her he would think about it but she kept peppering him every three minutes about it, he eventually gave in.A small part of him knew he was always going to come, but he would rather shoot himself in the head than admit that, especially now that he knew he actually regretted it. And honestly it was so much easier to blame Cassie for all the times he regretted something or when everything didn't go right. And right now, things didn't seem right. He wasn't in the mood for the party so he hadn't looked at the theme, hadn't prepared himself... properly. He honestly wasn't ready, not i

Chapter 35The arrangement of the house on forty third street was exactly how Adrian had gotten his wealth, unplanned, large and with a backbone that had carried it all and when he noticed the tower in the middle was ruining the decor of the house, he asked an architect to take it out, unluckily he got a very terrible one and they ended up cutting it from the root and now the whole house was shaky. He also hated metaphors and how stupid they could be, how much it sounded like the one using it was smart when in fact they are equally— if not moreso stupid than thinking with your brain. All he knew was that there was a fault in the stars of Hales hub and he didn’t know what to do. He was clad in a full piece suit and a file in his hands, there should be important documents and stuff in it but he favored Serena’s pictures. It was probably his most kept secret at that point, he would rather reveal to everybody that at ten, he ate a life bug and he used to be a kleptomaniac for the rest of h

Chapter 34His boots came out first and it hit the ground in a loud thud. Next came his pants and his trousers and then he was laying on the bed, only his boxer briefs on and his face was flushed, Serena hovered above him, smiling as she pulled her shirt over her head. “Are you sure you’re sober enough?” She whispered, they were warm and their skin was flushed against each other, Serena’s breathing came out rushed and she was loving every bit of him being under her, every bit of her taking control — to her, it was step one. “Yeah, are you sure you want to do this?” He whispered and she smiled, leaning down and kissing him hard.“Yeah, you are sober,” she said into his mouth and then deepened the kiss, her tight skirt rode up to her hips and she undid the zipper and pulled it off from her waist, she tossed it on the ground and straddled him. Her breasts were in his face and he was allowing her to take control. He was actually sober now and he knew she needed the outlet, her hands wr

  • MR. BILLIONAIRE, YOU’RE NOTHING WITHOUT ME.   Chapter 33

Chapter 33Damien was in fact projecting. He considered it a thing of great shame but he was a light weight. He hadn’t gone two glasses through before the alcohol began to set loose and now, he was speaking and his words were loose. Serena watched him in amusement because while she didn’t constantly indulge in alcohol and its brothers, she had the resistance of a bull but this man, this business mogul and man everybody was scared of couldn’t keep it down. It was ironic. “So, why can’t you take alcohol?” Serena asked him, not bothering to be subtle or linger and his eyes widened.“What do you mean? I am taking this like a champ,” he replied, his voice was lighter and a little too light of anything. There was the awareness that he wasn’t in his conscious uptight self and Serena was there for that. “I see that, what color of shirt am I wearing?” Serena asked him and Damien looked at her like she was crazy. He shook his head and took another drink.“It’s obvious you’re wearing Red,” h
