The wall clock showed 12 noon when Rebecca—in Ellya’s body—had just arrived home after finishing her classes. She opened the door wearily, hoping to collapse straight onto the sofa.

But her steps stopped the moment she saw the living room. There, sitting gracefully, was a married couple she knew all too well: Catrine and Louis Crawley, Ellya’s parents.

“Mom? Dad?” Rebecca nearly dropped her bag in shock. “Why did you suddenly come here?”

Catrine immediately stood, her face full of a warm smile. “Darling, of course because we miss you. Can’t a mother come to see her own daughter?”

Louis also stood, patting his daughter’s shoulder. “We also wanted to make sure you’re doing well. It’s been a long time since we had lunch together, hasn’t it?”

Rebecca closed the door slowly, trying to calm her pounding heart. “Of course you can, Mom, Dad. It’s just that you both came without giving notice first.”
