The nurse had just typed a message on her cell phone screen. Her thumb was about to press the send button when suddenly the sound of rapid steps pounded against the hospital corridor floor.

“No need to send it,” whispered a sharp voice behind her.

The nurse reflexively turned her head. Her eyes widened at the sight of the figure standing there—Nora, with a cold face and piercing gaze.

“I was just—”

Nora snatched the cell phone out of her hand. She read the text message that hadn’t been sent, then quickly deleted it.

“Listen carefully,” Nora said as she took out an ATM card from her small wallet. She held it out to her. “There are two million inside. Take it. But don’t ever send that message to Samuel.”

The nurse looked doubtful, swallowing hard. “But… Mr. Samuel paid me to find Mrs. Rebecca.”

“And now I’m paying you to keep your mouth shut,” Nora cut in quickly, her tone leaving no room for debate.
