NAYLA’S POV.

I saw tears prick at the corners of Collin's eyes. He wrapped his arm around me, hugging me tightly.

I wrapped my arms around him too, holding him close. How could I have been so stupid to let Ruby, who I thought was my best friend, manipulate me into thinking Collin would hurt her? Deep down, I knew Collin would never do such a thing to anyone. I was so angry at myself for listening to that part of me. Gosh, I messed up.

We both broke from our hug, staring deeply into each other’s eyes.

“Nayla, I promise you that I’ll always love you no matter what. Though it would be so painful for me to accept that you can’t be mine, but at the same time, I also have to respect your feelings—and Roy’s too,” he said, trailing his fingers through my hair, his touch gentle yet his eyes was filled with sorrow.

“God! I love you so much,” He whispered, shaking his head as if trying to deny the realization that I couldn’t be his.
