Chapter 4

last update Last Updated: 2024-01-23 04:40:56

Aaron lit a cigarette with the paper, carefully brova the charred pieces between his fingers, more furious: why them?

One of their men had just died, shot dead; something that rarely happened. Andro was responsible for conducting the investigation.

The agents were gathered with a pale face, they still couldn't believe it, they had just lost a very important agent.

Aaron shook his head, his lips clenched; it was impossible. Several years in the profession, he still could not control himself during the death of one of his colleagues.

The meeting ended, he went home and found Maïté in the parlor. Lord not now.

“I don't have much time Maïté, I have to go to the Clintons.”

Not even a hello! He was not in the mood. Why didn't he take the double key from her hands when they were separated? That way, she couldn't break into his house when she wanted, now that he was thinking about it; Why not change the lock?

“Seriously? Clinton the Billionaires?

“Yes, I am their daughter's driver.”He said while putting on a new tie.

Maïté was struggling to believe it, this family that she kept seeing on TV and in the newspapers. She would like to see them in real life and Aaron would be the perfect excuse.

“I would like to see their daughter. What's her name already?”

“I don't recommend that you do that.” He says like any answer.

Only he could know how this girl was plague. Already a week since he worked for them, he still couldn't control her but swore to do that.

“Why?” Maïté replied frowning.

He knew she was stubborn and would surely come to his workplace, something she used to do. She would see the consequences when she sees Hilary.

“I have to go. He replied, looking at his new watch.” He was already late.

“Where are we with our relationship?”

“We'll talk about it later.” He said as he went.

He had no desire to get back with her, for the simple and good reason: He didn't like her.

Everything was going very well between them although he didn't give her much time, the latter had left him because of her job and she was right. Now that he had two jobs, he would give her less time than the first time so no.If it didn't work before, it probably wouldn't work now.

He took a taxi and quickly went to the Clintons, unfortunately because of the traffic jam, he had arrived twice as late so Hilaire had to take his daughter with him.

Classes had resumed two days ago. This year, she would finish graduating and then go to Harvard. Something she has always dreamed of.

Ganaelsy and Hilary were sitting around a table at the self. It was around noon, the weather was nice, it was hot. Nana was talking about men as usual while her friend was lost in her thoughts. Her driver didn't come this morning and it annoyed her. She would have preferred to tease him like every morning. Has anything happened to him? It was not his habit of being late or even absent.

“Heo, are you with me?”

Nana's voice brought her back to earth.

“I'm here, my head is spinning but well, you can talk.”

“Isn't the new student handsome?”

Hilary turned her head, saw him and said yes with her head. With his green eyes and his beautiful short hair cut, he was super handsome but not as handsome as the driver who was surely the god of beauty. Why didn't she miss any opportunity to think about him?

“Do you want to go to the club on saturday? You're of age now so I think you can go.”

“Go find out if my father will agree.”

“We can tell him that you will come to sleep at my house and the problem is solved. As for your driver, his working time will be over.”

“It's great.”

Classes had just ended, she got her belongings back and went out to her greatest joy, she saw the driver leaning against the car, arms crossed waiting for her. Hilary smiled inwardly and advanced towards him.

“Hey Hila, who is this beautiful Apollo? You could lend him to me.” Says one of the girls in her class who was recognized as the queen of bitches.

Hilary gave her a middle finger and got into the car.She and this bitch had never got along well so there was no way for her driver and her to do things that were not very Catholic. It didn't concern her anyway, outside of work, Aaron could do what he liked.

With his eyes fixed on the road, he could feel looks on him.

“Admit that you missed my presence this morning and that you are happy to see me.

“Of course not, I was rather happy that I didn't have to stand you.”

Knowing very well that she was lying, he just smiled and focused on the road.

They arrived quickly because there was no traffic jam.

“Maïté but what are you doing here?”

Aaron knew very well that she would come even if he had advised her not to do so.What a stubborn girl! Hope that her presence did not disturb in any way in his job, it would not be advantageous for him to have a letter of blame; especially since he was already late this morning.

Hilary looked at them and her blood froze when she saw the so-called Maïté putting her lips on those of Aaron who after a few seconds kindly pushed her away, Was it jealousy?

“Ah well, I am finally seeing you, I'm very happy. Let me introduce myself; I am Maïté Kerkvist, Aaron's girlfriend. He told me a lot about you.”

“Here, it's your boyfriend's workplace so next time make an appointment in a hotel and not at my place.”Says Hilary, ignoring the hand that Maïté had extended to her and left.
