Although Kelly was unhappy with Rose’s behavior, he still hopped into the taxi, unwilling to miss the promise Rose had made about what awaited them at the cinema.

As the car drove on, Rose leaned on Kelly’s shoulder. The atmosphere was quiet; neither of them spoke a word.

When they arrived at the cinema, they both got out of the taxi. Kelly quickly went around to settle the fare with the driver.

“Hey, Rose,” he suddenly heard someone call out.

He looked up and saw a man, older than both of them—probably in his mid-thirties—talking to Rose. Kelly guessed the man was a bit older than him.

After settling the fare, Kelly watched as the man said, “I’ll definitely give you a call,” and then walked away.

He turned to Rose. “Who was that guy?” Kelly asked, suspicion evident in his voice.

Rose simply replied, “He’s my neighbor. Let’s go inside.”

Holding Rose’s hand, Kelly followed her toward the cinema entrance.
