Henson looked at his lawyer with a cold, impatient glare. "Do what you need to do," he snapped, "and stop being nosy like a woman."

The lawyer raised an eyebrow, cautious. "Is it because of Hannah…?"

He barely finished his question before Henson slammed his fists against the table, rising to his feet with a cold glare. "Don’t push me," he warned, voice low and threatening. "Just do what I asked and stop talking nonsense."

Without another word, Henson turned on his heel and strode back to the cell. He waited for days, but there was no response—no visit from Maxwell, no word of any kind.

Finally, he turned to the police officer who checked on him regularly. "What’s today?" Henson asked.

The officer glanced at his watch. "Tomorrow is the wedding."
