Chapter 35: A Little Bit

Kelly returned inside the house and saw his father and Lucy watching a movie together. Seeing them together only made him feel worse. Without a word, he turned around and headed to his room.

He slammed the door shut behind him. He didn’t leave his room unless it was for dinner. The next day at school, as he spotted Rose approaching from afar, he immediately ducked behind a tree, pulling Jude along with him.

“Dude, what’s with all the dodgy behaviour today?” Jude asked, frustration evident in his voice. This wasn’t the first time they’d been hiding from Rose.

Kelly shot him a glare and snapped, “Shut the fuck up!”

Jude hesitated to step out, but Kelly quickly grabbed him and pinned him against the tree. Looking him in the eyes, Kelly asked, “Jude, do you have feelings for Rose? Every time she’s around, you act like a snitch. Tell me the truth.”
